| Bessatsu Margaret's upcoming February issue, to be released on January 11th, will announce a TV anime adaptation of the magazine's ongoing manga, Ao Haru Ride. Cast: Mabuchi Kou: Kaji Yuki Yoshioka Futaba: Uchida Maaya Sakisaka Io's series debuted three years ago in Betsuma's February 2011 issue and was adapted into a light novel series 11 months later. Volume 4 of the light novel was just released on December 27th and volume 9 of the manga will be released on January 10th. All currently released manga volumes have charted #5 or higher in their debut on Oricon's Weekly Manga Rankings, with volume 2 achieving first place and the latest volume selling 187,726 copies in its first week. | That should have been sooner. Sakisaka Io is one of the best mangakas in shoujo genre IMO. As for Kaji Yuki voicing Kou I have to agree with comments before me. I don't hate Yuki but he is not a good choice. Anyway, I just hope it's a good studio the one adapting this, Brains Base or Production I.G. would be nice. |

| Wow, I love Yuki Kaji and he's one of my favourites but... I cannot see him as Kou, at all. Maybe Touma. But not Kou. At ALL. Yuki Kaji can pull off a deep voice it should be fine. I've seen him do it before. But what can I say. Anyways, I'm ecstatic that more shoujo anime is getting animated, I really am very happy and this was only inevitable since it sells so well. But I'm just a little anxious since the manga's frustrating me a bit right now. But hoping for the best! I do love the manga and Kou and Futaba's relationship. |
| After such a long time finally we will get good shoujo anime! There were so many otome game, "shoujo like", shoujo about guys with female character as supporting character or without any heroine... We finally got something on Kimi ni Todoke level :D Hope Production I.G. will make animation for it... After HAL, I really like Production I.G.xSakisaka Io team work :D I really like Kaji-kun, but his voice doesn't fit for Kou, he could be better as Touma, and Kou could have more manly voice... Well... maybe rest of characters will get better seiyuus :D |
