Yes, I know (I read) that WA1 and WA2 are not directly related in the plot.

But should I watch WA1 eitherway ?

I'm kind of tired of watching harem romance, thus as I read that in WA1 the mc is like six-timing, well, that doesn't really make me hype.

Here, in WA2, it should be more interesting as it seems to be more of a love triangle than an harem. Add music, and it makes me hype.

So, what do you think ?
Should I ?

WA2 can be watched without seeing WA1 I guess.
They're singing songs from WA1 though...

No. No need at all. The only thing the same is the title.

You don't have to. :)
Plus you seem to dislike harem and W.A.1 might get on your nerves.

I picked to watch WA2 first becuz of all the shlt about WA1. I suggest that if ur gonna watch both, then watch WA2 and then WA1. That way if WA1 was as bad as everyone says, then watching WA2 first would be better because watching WA1 might discourage you from watching WA2 even if u know that there is no correlation

Not necessarily. For me and some people who have watched WA1 years ago, we'll get this nostalgia feeling when some WA1 characters are mentioned in WA2 and their song is played.

Basically 2 main characters of WA1 are idols (back in the 90s) which by the time WA2 starts (2010) their song are pretty much known all accross Japan. WA2 main chara loves those idol's song and the song played an important role in WA2. But that's all to it, no story relation or smth like that.

No, there is no need to watch WA1. You can just watch WA2 and that's it. The only thing is that both animes are set in the same world, but in a different timeline and with different characters that have no relations to WA1.

WA1 is set in late 1986 - early 1987, while WA2 is set in late 2007 - early 2008. 20 years

Which makes me wonder, why does everyone always say that WA2 is set 10 years later after WA1 when its clearly 20 years? Even WA2 said 10 years......

@ooo333, White Album is originated from visual novels. WA 1 was made in 1999, and WA 2 made in 2009

Nope. In fact, I'd skip it altogether and go to the vastly superior WA2.

If you're GOING to watch the 2, no doubts about that, then watch the 1st first and the 2nd after, to leave the best for the end. If not just watch the 2nd.

You should watch White Album 1 since it's a lot better than White Album 2. WA 1 is a hidden gem. I don't know why people say the second is better than the first. They didn't even watched WA 1.
