Yes, you heard me. A trailer for the watamote dub has been released.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbXWgTtmf9c

I didn't even know there was going to be a Watamote Dub.

Anyways, what are your thoughts?

Thank you FastWheels !

I am very, very happy about this news, and here's why:

- I loved the manga, and read all the way through it multiple times.
- I loved the anime, and watched each episode multiple times.
- So far, the manga has 48 chapters that have been translated into English, but
only about 2/3 of them were used in the anime.
- That makes it quite realistic to have a second season, assuming the mangaka
produces a few more chapters.
- I very much want to see a 2nd season of the anime, or OVAs or a movie.
- To make that financially realistic, they need to do anything that will bring in
more money. Frankly, I don't care what they do. It seems to me that making
this dubbed version will earn some money.

None of my rationale is based on the artistic quality of the English dub. All I
care about is seeing a subbed version of season 2, or else OVAs or a movie.
In addition, I want to see the manga continue all the way up to where Tomoko
becomes Japan's first female arms dealer selling RPGs.

Dub! Dub! Dub!

Why not?

Because some people don't like to read.

I hope the promotion is not actually Tomoko's CV. Otherwise, it is a bad choice. She sounds normal and not weird/awkward.

Hi Tengai. Your question is good, and I think there are good answers.

1. Young children can't watch subs since they can't read fast enough

2. People with children can't watch subs since they don't have any spare time to
watch stuff on their own.

3. Really old people can't watch subs since their vision is typically not so good.

As a result of points 1, 2 and 3, it makes sense that stores are going to stock
a lot of dubbed anime. In addition to that, parents, grandparents and other
relatives are more than happy to spend money to buy Blu-rays and DVDs for
the kids. So there is a large market for selling dubs.

There are only certain short periods during a person's life during which they can
properly enjoy watched subbed anime. Sad, but true.

Tengai's question isn't good at all, it's a rather stupid arrogant elitist question.

Here's a really simple for you.

SOME PEOPLE LIKE TO WATCH ANIME, NOT READ IT!

Not everyone speaks Japanese, and not everyone likes having text plastered over the screen. I for one think it's really annoying with subs cover the art, so do a lot of people.

Is it really that hard to understand that someone might want to sit back, relax, and enjoy just watching a story?

If Tomoko isn't voiced by either NyannersByanners or Ashly Burch, then no thanks!!!

What?

Monica Rial does a pretty much spot-on rendition of Tomoko from what I heard of the dub.
Laugh and the world laughs with you. Weep and you weep alone.

Yup, watching it now. It's a flawless performance.

Also, compared to the subs, I'd even say much of the dub's script and jokes come across as a lot funnier.

I've seen some of episode one and it was fine. The only thing that sounded a bit off was Tomoko's mum.
