| I find it odd that that cop will go so far out of his way to catch someone who played chicken and lived but has a friend who's a Yakuza boss and doesn't mind various activities (that I assume are highly illegal) happening right in front of him. Still on the fence about this series. |

| The kid really is a genius. Doubtful, as the game has some complicated mechanisms. Still, so far it's watchable even with the barrier of not knowing the game's rules. |

| When Akagi called for the rematch, I just about flipped the hell out. Then when he wanted to go all night until someone ended up in hell, I was just about ready to walk away from my computer. This kid isn't just out for blood, he wants absolute dominance. Holy crap. Also, big thanks to the detective for letting this madness continue. What a jerk buddy. |

| Yagi tried his best to cheat his way into winning the legendary night but he was broken into a shell of a man when he realized that Akagi saw through his trick and had many more of his own. Even after that win, he wasn't satisfied with having a stranger's debts paid and wanted some money of his own. This is a strange cop, getting local Yakuza bosses to serve as a witness and arranging the ideal underground gambling setting for a fair rematch of Mahjong. I guess it's to be expected since the Yakuza and law enforcement is frequently seen to have a buddy-buddy relationship a lot. |

| My soul came out of my body when Akagi called him retarded. god. He's unique in that I can't think of a character to compare him to. Does he genuinely enjoy crushing others, or is he trying to see how far he can take it without getting destroyed because he isn't scared to die? Obviously that can't really be answered until some more info, but I really hope there's some explanation to that confidence. |

| I love this show so much but I don't understand much about Mahjong so I really feel like I shouldn't watch more yet. But I also feel it's impossible to learn, not because of mahjong's learning curve but because even if I understand the rules of mahjong all the yaku in the show have japanese names and no riichi mahjong list I've seen uses them instead of a basic english translation or other title. |

| soul lifting, attention riveting, eye splitting. this is the birth of a mahjong demon. this type of character is right up my alley, place akagi in any other anime and he'd be a force to be reckoned with there too. |
