| Those darkness scenes are really sad. Did Fujiwara just reverse time to win the duel?? Either way, it was an interesting fight, and Fubuki was bound to lose. |

| I doubt Fujiwara used time reversal. It seems he just looked into Fubuki to see what he really wanted (since he said something along those lines), just like the Trueman have been doing with the power of darkness. Another great duel, shame Fubuki was taken out. Time for Judai and Johan to save the day! |

He used his powers to see the darkness in Fubuki's heart and saw what Fubuki wanted the most in that duel, which was to save Fujiwara. Fujiwara was always going to win though because of Clear Vice Dragon's effect. I honestly wish that Fubuki had just tied with Fujiwara though because that would've meant having to deal with one less duel and would've spared us 2 episodes that could've been used for character closure later on. |
| Seems like you can't be a named character in YGO without getting brainwashed, turned to darkness, Yusuke might have the most punchable face I've seen for a villain in a while. Every other sentence he speaks mentions darkness, just about every line is spoken so loud and smugly, and I just don't get his motivation. Everything is just darkness, darkness, darkness. One thing I dislike about GX is the amount of cards that are so unfairly busted that they require ridiculously specific counters to beat, often in the form of some divine or plot-driven intervention. I'd be curious to read some of these cards' texts, as I assume they're written in 1pt font in huge paragraph blocks. I don't blame characters wasting monster attacks and spells when their cards are suddenly nullified by villains, how the hell are people supposed to remember all these effects? I know the original YGO was like this as well, so it's a wonder how I managed to survive that. I'm guessing the dub somewhat eased the frustrations, as the corny acting helped to either distract or outright remove elements of the plot. In some ways, the dub is an atrocity for turning the original anime into a joke. However, upon watching the original version of GX, I can't really laugh or point fun at the plot. Instead, it feels more like a slog, especially with the extended scenes of characters suffering in purgatory. |
