Man, this just is not getting better. These kids are so stupid. How the hell does a little kid shot a machine gun that big? Why would they do something like that? And why do these characters have to be kids? I think that is the dumbest part. They could have easily been about 10 years older, and it wouldn't have effected the story much, but would have given the anime some credibility.

Well, the kids sure have one really weird background story, that's for sure. The way they changed hair in the beginning was creepy too.

I think the scary shota twins were a good idea... Although the fact that they can fire a heavy machine gun just like that is a bit silly. What I'm surprised about is how they found them by looking through 250 Romanian CP snuff videos... Good episode though, let's see what happens with Revy and Eda :)

It seems like anyone that pairs with Revy makes a perfect match... of course it's meant to be that way but still awesome. I still think the twins are fucking awesome... ho can anyone not like loli sadists? I agree on the firing heavy weaponry pushing it but who care about minor details like that when a car practically flew a few hundred feet.

My advice? Get over it, this show isn't really meant to have a deep meaningful message or to be realistic. You should've figured that out last season with the maid, It's mostly mindless entertainment.

Well things are really not getting any better. Sure, the background story for the crazy twins was moving and very sad but by making the children so unrealistic and horrifying, the show has crossed the line from symbolism to sadistic exhibitionism.
One has to be careful because sometimes people look like they're trying to denounce the horrors of the world while what they are really doing is getting a kick out of showing insane violence. Even perverts can try to pass off as philanthropists...

Yeah, I've got to agree with the disgust so far. I can deal with all sorts of unrealistic situations Black Lagoon has shown so far, but having two little incestuous siblings be insane killers just doesn't add up to me. And despite all the ridiculous over-the-top events that happened, Black Lagoon still kept a serious undertone, when it needs it, and a realistic undertone, when it needs it. But the villains this time, like kerlyenai had said, has crossed the line. Meh. This is probably the only time I, personally, can find obvious dislike for the show, though.

If you take the twins and the gore too seriously, then your watching the wrong anime. Its meant to be mindless fun.

I donno about you guys, but I love the twins... They creep me out at times, they are somewhat hilarious, and, I donno, they are interesting little psychos. you don't see incestuous psychotic killer twins everyday.

though, I agree, this arc shouldn't be the first arc, they should leave this for later episode and start season 2 with a better base.

like Insane said, ever since the maid show up, you guys should've figured.

Every anime has little killer kids at some point or another.
So I would think that you have gotten used to it by now.

All this talk about them not being able to fire a heavy machine gun I don't understand. If they could lift it, they could probably shoot it. In machine guns almost all the recoil is used up chambering the next round. So I'm not sure if people think they couldn't shoot it because of the recoil, or just the weight of the gun.

I already got over the kids, what I'm really enjoying in this arc so far is how the story resolves around the groups and factions working behind the scenarios, namely Hotel Moscow, Things are getting pretty interesting, taking into account that the scarred blond female leader (whose name I can's spell yet) seems to be hiding something as well.

Anyway, I do miss Dutch!

I don't know why it had to be kids who where in snuff films as the killers really don't make sense only to put it that the city is very dark. I still don't understand how they were able to put two and two together with the kids and snuff films and are the twins male or female or is one male and the other female the changing of the hair was weird. It's crazy who fryface don't care if Revy gets in the way I mean why didn't that super special forces russian team just throw some damn frag grenades above the kids until they die it's not that hard they aren't super beings but the whole concept of them being able to hold that huge gun and aim and run and do all this sh** is impossible and if you think a kid can by all means try it but don't get mad when that gun turns that kid around and the bullets are coming your way.

I think some of you that are STUCK on whether or not the twins should be able to handle the weapons they are using,
or whether the characters should be children at ALL,
seem to be MISSING the bigger point the author (Rei Hiroe) is trying to make here.
Now, most of this is just MY opinion, but I ASK anyone one of you to come up with a better synopsis.
The twins, as well as ALL of the other residents of Roanapur represent the criminal elements we read
about in the news every day....the "BAD GUYS."
And, Rock represents US....those that read the news and talk about how bad things are "out there."
Before being kidnapped and joining Lagoon Company,
he saw the world through the eyes of a Japanese company man. Afterwards, Rock finds the world is not that convenient.

The author most likely needed to find something to represent what could (and sometimes DOES)
happen to children that are exposed to REAL violence everyday, hence the snuff films.
(Plus, I suppose, any other evil sh*t that the author could throw in.)

We have to see Hansel and Gretel, as well as ALL the other characters (including Revy) at their worst,
so we can get to see how Rock reacts to the stories about how they got that way.

The author is obviously using the UNREALISTIC (yet still AWESOME) violence to set up the story and the emotional impact afterwards.
So the FACT that a 10-year old can't pickup a M1918 Browning Automatic,
let alone shoot one, is asking for TOO MUCH REALITY from a manga or anime series.
------------------------------------------------
IMHO, the impact at the end of this arc is what makes this anime and manga a F**KING MASTERPIECE!!!

agree, it seems people will bitch no matter what happens.

and people complaining about kids being to bring those guns??

what's next? complain that a kid can carry a big ass sword??

oh wait....

for me i enjoyed it, Lagoon Company backed off of this since they know this is too dangerous to handle. basically it became Balalaika and Chang's episode. which is good since we rarely get to see them in this series.

though it is weird to see Hansel and Gretel from porno vids.

not to mention at the beginning when the "sister" gave her the wig to her "brother" and went outside, they suddenly switch voices out of nowhere.

love the action scenes, just more calculated and less action.

cannot wait for the next one, hopefully the bitching stops there.

Phew, at least the twins aren't vampires. It's still unrealistic that they are able to lift such heavy weaponry, but the dialogue between Chan and Balalaika at least explained why the twin a) are fucked up and sadistic and b) know how to handle guns, blades and violence.

I don't know why you all have a problem with the realism this show is intentionally outrageous and it's what makes it good! From the very first arc you had a boat flying in the air shooting out a helicopter haha this episode was very good indeed I liked how the twins are actually identical with the swapping of hair.

Chang also did some great gunfighting, nice designs on the pistol grips also.

I don't quite get how Balalaika made the connection from "insane romanian kids" to "they must have been in a snuff movie". And even if, what exactly did she gain from it? From what we saw only their names in that one movie. Which are most likely not their real names (assuming they even remember their original ones). And why/how do their names even matter?

The motive behind going after Hotel Moscow would be of more interest to her (not much, but at least it could help avoiding any more cases like this), but so far we didn't hear anything of that.

Also of interest is how they manage to get that MG through customs. Roanapur that i get, but it sounded like they travel a lot. And if they'd use private routes or bribe someone etc., why the talk about the passports etc.?

I love Black Lagoon and i don't mind having insane incestous loli twins in it because it seems fitting, especially with that background. But a little more consistency in some things wouldn't hurt it, either.

Just a little nitpicking ;)

Oh, and i loved how they tried paying their way out. Thats some quick thinking there. Rare to see something like that, especially given that they are quite trigger-happy.

Two weird twins that apparently change gender, a story that barely involves Lagoon or Revy, i mean where do they plan on taking this?
