| According to CrazyJapanNews's scan of a page from Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun's 11th volume, manga Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun was announced to end in its 12th and final volume. The manga was serialized for a little over four years in Dessert shoujo magazine, and its anime adaptation aired last season. The volume will include the previously announced OVA. Yeah, I'm guessing the author is either not going to resolve Haru's family problem or she will resolve it in like a chapter or two. I like this series a lot, and although I agree that their relationship hasn't been going anywhere, I think it's still cute to read about them. I feel that it's pretty realistic to have relationships advance that slow. I'm not particularly happy or sad that the manga is ending, but I will certainly miss it when it does. |

| As long as the scanlators stick with the project and finish it. I'll be fine, I reckon there will be about 48 to 50 chapters in total, 36 chapters have been scanlated. With this news and the fact that the OVA will come out with the final volume, I don't think there will be a 2nd season and I don't think the OVA will give an "end" to the anime but instead just be a continuation of the story with more comedic events in fit in a 25 minute episode. |

Especially with Shoujo animes the manga ending usually means no second season as the anime adaption is made to drive manga sales. Blu-Ray/DVD sales are usually so bad that they alone don't secure next season. Chihayafuru is good example. Horrible blu-ray/DVD sales but they saw that it drove manga sales enough so it got second season. |

| So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |
