The fight continues between Jojo and co vs Bruford and Tarkus. While Jojo was able to redeem Bruford, Tarkus doesn't care and is completely evil which I find odd. If they both served the queen with the same values, shouldn't Tarkus have a little good in him?

Props to the kid standing up and having the courage to open the gate, when I saw that bullying scene I was getting pissed off because all of the other kids think theyre tough just because they can gang up 10 vs 1. Oh yeah you're tough alright >.>

Zeppeli's gonna die next episode!? UURRRYYYEAHH!!!!!!!

I wholeheartedly disagree.

The anime version doesn't even have a nose in this shot; instead, she has flat nostrils with nothing else. It reminds me of Voldemort, to be honest. And in some other shots of her, they didn't even bother drawing the nostrils - she just had an empty space where her nose should be. This, not to mention that this shot lacks the full lips that Araki's art is known for...

Maybe it's a difference in tastes, but I feel that Araki's original art is better than the anime's, even if it lacks the gorgeous colors that the show has.

But if we look more we advance in the parts and most women are better looking. This is just I prefer the eyes in the anime.

More like good art, and even cinematography at times; the animation for the most part has been sub-par, though I can't really blame David Production, seeing the budget constraints they had. If the Blu-Ray sales are of any indication, however, future seasons should be seeing a big jump upwards in overall quality. As for now, hopefully they've been saving their budget for Battle Tendency.

Other than the shouting all the time when needed and when not needed it was a good episode.

You really should get used to that. It'll probably get even worse in Part 2.

Anyway, it was pretty good and, despite my less than favorable opinion of Phantom Blood, the final scene of the episode was great.

LOL. Speedwagon making his presence known.

I don't even know anything about Jojo other than basic info and I can tell that its part of Speedwagons character.

I've been sitting on the fence for quite a while, but now, I think I'll be comfortable in saying that this really is successful adaptation. What David Production lacks in budget, they more than made it up in style.

Sure, the animation quality itself pales in comparison to say, KyoAni's Chuunibyou, but the art style more than makes up for it.

man I spoiled what would happened in the next episode by watching the timeline in the previous Jojo's ova. So I stopped as soon I learn about Zeppeli's fate. I want to watch the tv series first than the ovas and last read the manga. That way I wouldn't have any complaint to the anime trying to compare it to the manga all the time. More enjoyable that way :)

No, you shouldn't The OVA only adapt the last few parts of Part 3.

It covers the whole Part 3. A lot of material was cut in the OVA, though. So I recommend reading this part anyway.

What sucks about the OVA's isn't just the battles that it skips, it's also the complete change in tone from the manga.

The Part 3 manga is this hilariously wonderful comedy-action-horror-adventure story with a very distinctly manic, over-the-top feel, but the OVA's from the early 2000's tried to tone the insanity way back and make it seem like Jojo is a much slower, methodical series than it really is. They absolutely went against the feel of their source material, and the OVA's really suffered for it. I've seen reviews by confused people wondering, "Are we supposed to take this seriously?", whereas the Part 3 manga makes it very clear and certain that it's all for fun.

David Productions, on the other hand, has perfectly captured the feel of the manga with this show, so I hope that they get to do Part 3 eventually. I would really like for everyone to forget that those OVA's exist.

I did not comment yet on this series but so far it’s been amazing. Everything a old school timer like me that listened to the series back in the 90s has been in this remake. Visually amazing. The girls much more charming even though still remaining in the old school style. With that I can safely say Poco’s sister in the following,

Along with the spoiler was quite charming. I like her. She is mature and has a strong character. Her looks are really gorgeous in terms of her eyes and hair style.

That being I am mainly writing due to the following,

ARE THEY JOKING ME! O_O They CAN’T KILL BARON! THEY CAN’T! I forgot of the series long ago but in my mind it cannot remember of any part where Baron dies. YOU GOT TO BE SHITTING ME! I love the guy! I refer to him as the magician. He is always kick ass. I hope he makes it next episode.

Speedwagon is pretty cool too. I liked him a lot from the start.

That being written, series is kick ass and a joy to watch except for the lame censoring but understandable due to the laws.

Indeed, their budget is not noticeable at all. Great soundtrack and amazing direction more than makes up to it. This art style might save money, but I think it also makes the series a lot more enjoyable.

You're the one who keeps talking about watching this series in the name of "criticism" right? For someone who says that you sure do a terrible job at actually being a critic. Just an FYI but saying something is "shitty" is definitely not valid criticism.

And, please don't accuse me of being a fan boy or some crap like that. Because I'm definitely not.

Edit: Also, from what I've read of the manga, I think the series has gotten quite a bit better since the end of this part. Especially towards the end of Battle Tendency and what I've read of Stardust Crusaders, the second and third parts respectively. It's still a pretty silly series, though that is definitely NOT supposed to be taken completely seriously, but it just feels "tighter" I guess.

According to a comment on the Cart Driver's blog:
http://thecartdriver.com/jojos-bizarre-adventure-6-the-roundabout/

"I feel like I should explain the meaning of “Luck & Pluck”, in case it’s not fully understood here:

“Luck & Pluck” basically refers to the difference between the people who effortlessly obtain what they want through good fortune or illegitimate means (Luck) and the people who have to make their way in life through hard efforts (Pluck). (The meaning of “Pluck” here means “courage or resolution in the face of difficulties”, and not pulling out hairs or whatever. xD) This was a common theme in in old dime novels about people who had their inheritance or good fortune stolen out from under them, and then had to work hard in order to make a name for themselves again.

Dio tried to cheat his way to fortune, and then later discovered how to become immortal by coincidence, so he represents LUCK. Jojo has to suffer many trials and hardships in life in order to bring about a resolution, so he represents PLUCK.

I’m really amazed that Araki had ever even heard of “Luck & Pluck”, since most modern English speakers don’t use it at all anymore. But hey, it really fits in well with the polarized face vs. heel storytelling of Jojo Part 1."

Great blog, BTW. One of the few to cover both Hunter x Hunter and JoJo.
Anyway, fantastic fucking episode once again. I'm gonna be sad to see Zeppeli go in the next episode, if he does. I took a liking to the guy. =(

On another note, I've given up on gg's subs. Maybe people like the over-the-top British slang, or whatever the hell they're trying to do, but it's just too ridiculous for me. Being a big fan of the anime so far I decided to rewatch the episodes done by Muda Muda Muda subs. They're a relatively new group, but they seem to be solely dedicated to subbing Jojo. I think they're doing a fine job, and I'm enjoying their subs a lot more than gg's.
