| the way the okuru arc was told was most appealing. they ran in parallel with interlaced scenes of jin fighting his former peer. “i may as well be already dead” “why are you running” as for why mugen claimed that okuru was a man who is “alive”? im not quite sure. what was okuru running for? to preserve his own life, yet he felt he was being treated unfairly due to the destruction of his village. to confront that injustice and live with it, is that why mugen claims that he is alive? very thought provoking couple of episodes. very nice also noticed the foreshadowing with fuu’s sandal. in the previous episode, as the three were parting their separate, ways a scene shot of fuu’s feet was among this sequence. for some reason, i could sense there would be an emphasis on her thick soled sandals. |

| Now this little 2 episode arc was great. Jin was especially great in this arc, him stoically saying "Wait." as Mugen and Fuu childishly fight was a perfect moment. And Okuru was awesome, felt like he was the green to Mugen's red and Jin's blue. Any character who plucks a stringed instrument while sitting up in a tree is cool in my book, if it turns out he's the sunflower samurai then he was definitely worth finding. More episodes like this, please! |

| This show has been absolutely masterclass since ep 11. Magen still my favorite but I’ve come to really appreciate jin especially during this arc. I just know imma be sad when their journey comes to an end. |
| One thing I really like in this anime is that these little arcs are simple yet has that complexity that keeps you interested and they're short and precise so you don't get too bored of them. |

| Okuru was a great character. It looks like he's alive but ever since he lost his family he has been dead, figuratively. How was he bearing the pain while burning? Also great ending theme. |

| It really doesn't matter what they do, because in the end, they always meet again and continue on the journey. After that episode, I'm pretty sure the sunflower-smelling samurai is Fuu's father. Has already been showed flashbacks of the child Fuu seeing him, she said she wanted to spank him and now she said she wants revenge for her mother. |
