| I just love the overall theme of this episode. Was it luck or talent/skill? In the end they forget that they were trying to answer that, and it didn't really matter either. The answer was found (whether you would say that the logical connections did the work or it was happenstance that those were the connections they came to in the first place) and an enjoyable experience was had, even by our resident energy conservationist. All I'm left wondering is why the last episode was needed, though given the newspapers at the beginning of this episode mentioning fires and theft I won't be surprised if we're already two episodes into the next "big" mystery. |

| This was a stellar episode. You just have two characters sitting at a table, having a good ass discussion from a little announcement. Eru and Houtarou's chemistry is on another level |
| Even though this is just a discussion between Chitanda and Oreki, it's a really gripping episode. I would critique some of Oreki's generalizations as too rational, since he doesn't take consider the possibility of people acting irrationally. The animation is on point in this anime. Chitanda pout <3 |

| I wanted for him to be wrong, but oh well. It's just that there's not enough evidence from that one sentence for him to make a theory that well thought through and be right too. But it was still an enjoyable episode nevertheless |
| wow that was quite the episode, went from a simple announcement further down the rabbit hole to an entire theory of counterfeit money. Lmao i liked how Houtarou wanted to use minimal amounts of energy through that convo but after Chitanda kept adding more and more he slowly gave in a cracked an entire fucking case from a simple few words and a wacky bet. |

| Houtarou never cease to amaze me. That deduction skills will land him a detective job someday. And even if his assumptions ended up wrong, which is not lol, those theories he made is really amazing. I also try to make some assumptions but my only theory is shoplifting lol. |

| There was way too much Hotaro x Eru here (not that I'm complaining!). Please just kiss already! I so want to see them end up together. Also, Eru was unbelievably cute when she questioned what the "shade" in "shady" referred to (probably not a direct, literal translation from the Japanese?) Damn. Hotaro just can't get it wrong. Although I had guessed that he'd be right. But still, damn. |

| This episode went to the technicality As the announcement was made they started to debunk it and went in depth We also see some romantic build-up from the two main characters which is kinda nice to see the relationship progress now considering how many episodes have passed Eru on a yukata/kimono next episode can't wait to see that. |

| This episode is wild. They start with something so simple and end up with a really complex theory. No way that happen in real life without luck involved, they basically deduce the theory from one announcement |

| really good episode. despite being pretty much just 25 minutes of chitanda and oreki talking, it ended up being probably one of my favorite episodes of the show so far |

| This episode is ironic, because Oreki claims to have solved all his previous cases just by luck, which is untrue. But in this episode, the fact that he came up with the right theory really was just luck. A nice little piece of writing. |
