Should I play the game?

Hi everybody,

Yesterday I started watching Persona 4 the Animation, mostly because during my stay in Japan I've seen hundreds of posters of this title on streets, not only in Akihabara (opening from series could be heard everywhere and I just fell in love in it).

So I've watched some episodes and now I'm really excited about this title.
I haven't played the game although and would like to ask, if game is really that good as they say and it's worth to play? Probably I'll finish watching it today or tomorrow and would like to start playing soon.

I've read some reviews and gamers really liked "Persona 4", but I want to know the opinion of anime fans too ~

actually, I think the anime story already covered up the game plot line. of course you also need to wait the sequel

but it'd be more fun if you also play the game, you can get more event of every characters from PERSONA 4.

He can't even play the duology properly thanks to Atlus bonehead move of not re-releasing both of them together for PSP in America and if he lacks a PSP he can't even play the Innocent Sin part of the duology.

Anyway, ignoring a "you should start with x game" thing. I say yes, it's an interesting playthough, and considering P3 and P4 have a different style to 1 and 2, I'd take a blind stab and say that you might enjoy 3 if you end up liking 4. Also, If you see and end up liking the fighting game (Persona 4 Arena) you'll probably want to know who those "other" non P4 characters on it are anyway. xD

I'm kind of on the same boat. If Persona 4's story is exactly like the Anime series then it doesn't make much sense to play the game. But I know P4 Golden is coming up soon and it has some changes to the plot. I hope it's different enough to maybe justify it's purchase.
