KATANAGATARI
| Honor, loyalty, duty, selfishness, selflessness, love, hate, revenge, family, cowardice, mercy, cruelty, sympathy, apathy, jealousy, indifference, grief, joy... The list of traits and emotions in the charactrs goes on and on, but so do the many themes covered in the series. What, in the end, did you come away with as the overriding moral of the story? What is fated will happen, resistance is futile? Fighting is pointless? Live for the sake of Life itself? Use or be used, or on the flipside, using others will cause your downfall? Relationships are fleeting. Learn from history, or don't live your life ruled by the past. These were just some of the underlying messages that I got during different parts of the show, and there are more there about family, fraility and power that I didn't list. I will probably be rewatching this show again just to try and catch all the different themes there, but I am interested in what you came away from the show with, and what you feel was the main message. Now please don't post any wikipedia stuff or quotes from the author saying what he was tryng to get across, as those are pointless. Once a story leaves an author's hands and gets out into the public, his objective is secondary compared to the interpretation of the audience. |
