無賴勇者的鬼畜美學, Hagure Yuusha no Estetica (The punk hero’s sadistic ideals)
Another interesting beginning to a story. The story begins where the hero from another world, goes back to his own. First, let’s have a brief summary to his adventures at the other world:
He arrived at this new alternate dimension, where there is a demon lord etc etc. You get the idea. However, the difference is, that there is already a hero at the place where he arrived. And this hero, together with a beloved princess, is on their way to vanquish the demon lord. However, the demon lord launched a surprise assault, and the hero died in order to protect him. Everyone in the world hated him, thinking that if he had never arrived, the hero would have survived and peace would have arrived in their world. He then disappeared…
Unknown to others, he went through immense training and eventually returned to challenge the demon lord once more. However, there are people who feel that he is no hero, and thus they gave him the title of “Punk Hero”, which he gladly accepts, as he too agrees that the original hero is the true hero. Despite all their adventures, and the princess eventually having some feelings towards him and vice versa, they are not meant to be, as both would never forget the real hero. And so, the protagonist returns to his own world… With a bit of a luggage, such as the grudge within that world, and any cause for further war in that world(since people would oppose this “Punk Hero” as he is the cause of the death of their hero to begin with)
Also, unknown to the masses, the demon lord has a daughter. The demon lord has told her that, should there be a day where he is defeated by a hero, she is to go with him. As she follows him, she is to decide whether this hero is worthy to take care of her, should he be not, then she is to kill him instead. Strangely enough, this “Punk Hero” took up this task and took her back to his world, where she is safe. He then claims that she is his sister in fact, and the two of them entered “Babel”, an association where anyone who has been to alternate worlds are to gather and study and practice their magic.
Eventually, as the Punk Hero entered Babel, he created a lot of commotion, such as challenging the school council, which consists of the strongest in the school, being the only one who can’t use magic, etc etc. Eventually, it was revealed that he has intentions of defeating two people. His brother, who is the leader of “COCOON”, “Children Of Cross Over Other Nations”, which comprises of members who too are heroes in other worlds, thus representing that world as a whole as well. The other would be his father, the founder of the anti-babel rebellion, “Crimson Evening”. But taking on the two would mean that he is taking on the entire world on his own… How will his fate turn out to be?
Well, the artwork of this novel is not all that great, but the story is not too bad. Though he is indeed powerful, he is not the strongest, or so it seems, as most of the characters in the story has yet to use their full strength. On the other hand, the title suits the interesting parts of the story, his “sadistic ideals”. There are some clinche scenes in the story, such as him trapped in the school storage room, locked up, with three females, with a twist. One of the girls needed to visit the washroom during the locked-up period, and when turned to for help, he simply told her “It’s not good to hold it in” and helped her solve her problem(You probably can guess how it went). But the other two girls find this solution not all that great, since it would be embarrassing and hard for them to avoid this issue in future, and when turned to for help again, he simply gave a very simple solution, “It’s not good to hold it in”, and so, the three girls became very close friends since them, with a united enemy(What happened? Need you ask?).
His sadistic ideals is to not let females shed tears, and is as follows:
When a woman cries, if he wants her to stop crying, he would take action immediately.
When a woman cries, if he thinks the woman crying is cute, he would hold her in his arms immediately.
When a woman cries, if she should cry, he would let her be alone for a while.
When a woman cries, if the tears are fake, he will find out the reason behind those tears.
Doing whatever it takes to achieve his goals. If forcing a kiss would do the trick, he would not hesitate to. Though this may be a little rough, but there do exist sorrowful tears that must be stopped even if the people weeping does not want to.
The story is interesting with the outrageous things he does, such as stealing women underwear to agitate them(for example when challenging the student council), or to try to help them deal with their problems. On the surface, he would be a real jerk, but on the inside, he might not be that bad after all. At the same time, he is taking on everything onto his own shoulders, while at the same time making sure he does not become a “Hero”, as to him, the true “Hero” is the one who has passed away to save him. |
