Now this was a dark episode. Absolutely loved it! Pierrot, awesome character, evil, child-like, and a murderer. Perfect combo right there to create a new character. Probably one of my favorite episodes from this series.

Brilliant episode, the dub VA for Pierrot did a really good job. His laugh was insane, it fit Mad Pierrot perfectly.

Same here. D: Mad Pierrot just freaked me out from the start.

And what a way to perpetuate people's fears of clowns and theme parks at night. XD

D: You're not helping. xD

The creepiest part for me was when Spike shot up the theme park Pluto sailor character and it kept trying to talk and then he kicked in its face till it fell in the ground and STILL was trying to move and talk with his face bashed in. o_o

You that pluto scene scared me xD
So the persons or cat who experimented on spike also experimented on pierrot
I could not help but feel sad when he started crying and asking for his mon :'(

before i saw his face i said "that's the penguin!" but he's much better than the penguin in that, in the end, i sort of felt sorry for him, kind of sad to see him go... :'(

He has to be based in the penguin, he even uses a walking baton as a weapon, which is similar to an umbrella.

Pierrot Le Fou (the episode and the character) was influenced by French film noir, David Lynch and Batman The Animated Series. Mainly the Batman villains The Penguin and The Joker.

There's also some Mary Poppins in there...

These influences make it one of the most visually striking and interesting episodes of Cowboy Bebop to me

I guess it was best to put him out of his misery in the end :/

Whoa. This episode has to have one of the coolest villains of the entire series, he was really well-done. The action scenes were really great too and Pierrot's history was a very good explanation for his twisted behaviour. 9/10

That was such a dark and somber episode, just way I like it. The animation was top notch, and that was a heck of a sequence there in the beginning of the episode, definitely felt the emotion of Spike as he was going against this crazed demented clownish villain. I don't know if the episode contributed anything plot wise, but who cares man this episode was really really enjoying.

Really sad villain death though. Him crying for his mother indicates that he was a lab experiment from a very young age, very sad. A small part of me wished that he could find some sort of redemption or future at the end...sadly not :(

I think he was actually one of many clones, which means he was probably only there as long as he had exited for. That being said, his mind probably never got the chance to mature in a healthy way which led to him becoming more and more childish as he descended into madness. When he got hurt for the first time, his instincts kicked in which made him cry for a mother he never knew (or at least, the mother of the original person who had been cloned).

Clones, circus themes, insanity, and theme parks. What an intriguing (and haunting) episode.
