| This series has been great for filling out the minor characters. Except for "No Eyebrows", the writters have made us care for every one of ippo-kun's opponents. |

| Takamura was pure win this episode XD I'm glad that they aren't trying to demonize all of Ippo's opponents, but I kinda feel sorry for Jason, he definitely going to lose. |

| It's great how they humanise Ippo's opponents, rather than pull the usual western trick of making every opponent seem like demon spawn :-/ I really don't want to see Jason lose, but Ippo is fighting...it's impossible to choose :'-C "Big Mara Ippo" will surely go down among the all-time great nicknames XD |

| I like it how there's a life story for each opponent for ippo :-) but Jason on the other hand is a nice guy which makes us all sad if he loses.. but in the end the hero must prevail! haha Takamura as a training partner for ippo is just insane! haha |

| I think this episode set a new personal record for legit laugh out loud moments. The elbow killed, Takamura was gold, and anytime the elephant sound hits, I howl. I don't want Ozuma to lose either and hope to see more of him later in the serie. Cool cat he is. |
| I love how they add little background and development to the opponent as well. This makes me love them both and support them both, sadly someone has to lose :( |

| Interesting how they actually used southern accent in the dub to show they are from a different region, Glad they picked up on the small things from the Japanese dub. I don't want Jason to lose to "Big Mara Ippo" either. D: xD |

| I really like the formula they have going on, showing us Ippo's enemy too. Now I really don't want to see Jason lose either! This episode in particular was hilarious though, lots of funny facial expressions, plus I will never get tired of the dick jokes, they are the best! Takamura was savage this time around, but that's why we all love him. :D Mama-san was the MVP though, such a nice lady. I am so excited for these matches! Almost makes me feel like I know these guys personally. People always say that those cute girl shows or slice-of-life anime have a "healing" factor and make people happy. I think "Hajime no Ippo" is this show for me, it really gives me lots of positive vibes. |
| It was borderline uncomfortable just how much they fixated on the fact Jason is black. Like we get it guys. Seems like a good dude though. I really don't want either of them to lose! |

| My heart broke when they introduced Jason. I was like, GADDAMMIT!!!!!! THE GUY IS KIND AND VERY LOVABLE /SOBSSSSSSSSSSSSSS TT^TT It's gonna suck when he loses to Ippo :( but I'm sure his family will understand and console/support him through it all C: losses are great for learning and improvement; since Jason hasn't lost yet according to his known fight records, it'll be a great experience for him. That gym couldn't help him grow anymore, so this is the best thing for Jason, really. Best of luck to him :') He's a really great guy <3 Takamura so cute xD didn't want to lose so he used his elbow on reflex to not get tainted by taking a punch from Ippo xD |

| When I saw a black character I did get a little nervous, I thought I was gonna have to drop the show bc anime loves to disrespect us Instead, I was actually surprised lol, the most polite racism I've ever seen & big LMAO to the endless dick jokes, it's even funnier bc poor lil Ippo is so innocent  |
