It would be easier if Tenma didn't save Lunge.

You've got to be the worst detective of your country if you just came up with a theory with no proof to back up your story and just assume that it is indeed the truth.

Ignore all other piece of evidence or people who can testify that could actually solve the cases and just blame the whole thing on the guy you actually have no proof of him commiting a crime, other than his fucking ex-girlfriend, who is a very unstable person and doesn't get along with anyone, said something about him.

Even so, he simply can't get Tenma no matter what he does. He's hilariously incompetent with this Tenma-Johan case

there were some clues that lead him to believe that tenma was the actual murderer like for example, he found tenma's tie on the guy who died and the fact that he gained so much after his boss and other colleagues died. his fiance testifying that he was guilty just perpetuated the idea that tenma is the murderer even if she seems unstable. and another thing the fact that a kid did all of this is unbelievable so obviously that doesn't help tenma lol it just looks like he's trying to blame it on someone else in lunge's eyes..

lunge is a detective that never failed a case so obviously he's always gonna think that he's right and that he doesn't make mistakes which lead him to become stubborn. his character is morally grey and flawed and that makes him a fascinating character imo and it adds to monster's greatness tbh..

It is something that could already be known, but Lunge knows that this is the best case he has ever had. And one as a reader knows that Lunge is wrong, for the first time (as far as anyone knows). Lunge mistakenly attributes the case to Tenma, and from his perspective, he believes him to be some sort of Jekyll and Hyde. This, in turn, reinforces the idea of how ruthless and perfect Johan is as a mastermind.
So really from a general point of view, this whole series of cases and in everything that these can converge, in total it is a super intricate and inextricable case...

Lunge really is a character a lot of readers find very hard to like, given how determined he is in opposing the main character. However i don't blame him for thinking Tenma is the culprit, almost everything is pointing at that conclusion from his perspective. Johan is just that much of a genius in covering up his trail of crimes.

I don't understand why people are shitting on Lunge. He's obviously a great detective. He's solved every single case that he has been assigned. Also Tenma's story does sound pretty unbelievable to someone who hasn't met Johan.

This inspector investigator guy is sick in the head. I know the doctor would never not save him, but come on, he's been on his trail for the wrong reasons.
