Lupin was raiding Area 51 before it was cool, and the antagonists were an all-female terrorist group trying to undermine the USA. Cool stuff. The action here was also good, and there was a killer for each one of them, and Jigen's and Goemon's battles were amazing. I also loved to see Lupin and Zenigata fighting together to survive that situation, it's just a pity that the one "assigned" to Fujiko got out alive without really fighting against her one more time after their first clash like it happened for Jigen and Goemon, but Fujiko still took part in the action in the end, and I loved it.
Just Sophie was a bit too cheesy for me. Not fighting for real, seeing a vestige of her lost love in Lupin and being silenced for betraying her cause. Her specialty was poison, it would've been cooler if she really tried to kill Lupin, but I guess that it added a bit of "feels", and gave a bit of "weight" to the revelation that Emily was actually their boss. I saw it coming after the last special, poor Zenigata can't catch a break with the people he works with lately. Emily was pretty low too, but it was "nice" to see Lupin ending her, and avenging Sophie. But it did feel like he took her death too personally. Welp, in the end Lupin couldn't stop the project by stealing that sample, but he also didn't sell it to the other nations. |
