Woo, spooky... an interesting background to the Matrix series, with relatively good animation

Echoes of I, Robot anyone?

I hope you're referring to the book and not the shitty Will Smith movie.

Second Renaissance is the highlight of the Animatrix, brilliantly told story, great direction, animation, music, it all gells well together beautifully. Its both enlightening of the Matrix trilogy and is not dependant on it, and the films are not dependant on the anime either. You dont have to know this backstory to enjoy the movies, but its still a great backdrop.

I cant remember if its in this episode or the next, but my favourite part is the disturbing moment where a female is getting attacked by a bunch of guys. Just sums up the entire Animatrix, bold, visceral and thought-provoking.
"I'm starting to think mal is run by Xinil generating electricity on a bicycle." - idklol

Pretty entertaining. Kind of reminds me of a cross between "i-Robot and Planet of the Apes".

I can't stop laughing. Since when were Matrixverse robots Jews? They're not even trying to be original here. I guess it could be trying to reflect the repetitive nature of humanity's history, but in the end I can't help but wonder what whoever wrote this thinks is going on now, if our past is the same as the Second Renaissance.

That was some good backstory. I think I saw some references to real moments in history? Maybe even the apple having another meaning. It was enjoyable and interesting.

7/10 maybe 8/10

In the matrix they didn't explain much about the rebellion of the machines against the humanity. Good episode.

The was great. I loved the scene where the apple (of knowledge) was infested by maggots and slowly morphed into a human brain, symbolizing the humans' refusal to cooperate with their own creations.

Wow! This was really bad. All these stories about "people in future will treat robots like a slaves" is such a bullshit!
