Haha, yeah he was. Even though he was nice he gave off this creepy vibe xD It's probably because of Martha's desperation disease, since the disease also affects those who are close to the person who has it. Makes you wonder though why Martha fell ill after arriving at Will's birth place. I wonder what would have happened if they left the area.

I got the creepy vibes from Will too, haha. It was really nice that he saved Renton though... Really made me wonder how long Renton -had- been walking to get in such bad shape...

Interesting ep. I sure hope Eureka doesn't get Despair sickness. That would suck.

I thought Will's devotion to his wife was really interesting... he's obviously in denial about it, so I can't help but wonder if it ever gets to him when he's alone or whatever. He can't be that chipper all the time, can he?

I get the feeling we won't see Will and Martha again, though. Damn shame.

Will reminds me of castway with tom hanks and wilson lol. But yeah another filler. He could have chosen to drop off in a city instead of being in the middle of nowhere.

This episode was touching.
Will is a devoted guy to his wife, even though she has the despair sickness.
I also wonder what Renton is going to say when he approaches Eureka after all of this.

I like this episode, Will has some good beliefs. And he's so dedicated to his wife. It's touching.
Also, asfskljg, the scene where Holland remembers about old days with Charles. Dat music. Got shivers from this.
Loved the music in this episode in general.
BTW I like the song which the title of this episode comes from a lot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-7OMy0NWGE :')

Interesting detour, but still a detour. Will was cool, but I guess this was just a random encounter to let Renton practice his favorite hobby of telling people they are not as satisfied and happy as they think.

Hidden in Will's conversation was a very deep critique of the base for human civilization on that world. He is rebelling against the system (and the military power structure) in the same way the vodarac are. Actually probably in a more active way, since he is removing the metal spikes out of the ground to allow the energy to flow more naturally. I think we got another piece of the puzzle in this episode, so I wouldn't call it filler at all.

I had the same idea. He actually seemed to kind of understand the strange occurences in the E7 world and wasn't affected by the governments propaganda just calling everything bad or disastrous.
He did seem a bit in denial about his wife's condition though, but I do think he really could communicate with her. Kind of like Eureka communicates with Nirvash.

why was renton even walking in the beginning? At first I thought maybe it was because there were no trapars around so he wasnt riding his board but after that that guy max saved him he mentioned how there were indeed trapars.
I liked the idea of how those giant metal pins were holding the planet's tectonic plates down. they must be strong and go very deep. that guy must be hella strong to knock one down. his weapon looked pretty interesting as well.

Nice insight. I really liked listening to Will's talks, he had really interesting ideas and principles.

First time I cried in this episode, and it's not even for any of the main characters ^^ Will's dedication and positive attitude is to be respected. I like how he says that it's called the Desperation Disease because the people around the person become desperate, and Will hasn't, so it's not. What a great guy.

And Renton...he leaves Gekko because not even talking to Eureka could make him stay, and then he wants to go back because he wants to see Eureka. Uh huh. Clearly he needs to think things through more in the first place. But I guess it makes sense because he's had time to cool off.

THANK YOU, WILLIAM B. BAXTER, FOR TEACHING US THE MEANING OF LIFE.

but seriously, I didn't find him weird, I also thought he was wise, but it's a matter of opinion I guess. Confused on how Martha caught the disease, it was very sudden. .

This episode made me realize that this series so far is about the journey, not the destination. There's been a lot of seemingly-pointless episodes, but they contribute a lot to Renton's growing maturity as well as the relationships between Gekkostate.

Well, it seems as if Renton will return just as or while Gekkostate is under attack.

I thought the despair sickness is some kind of virus. I guess it has something to do with the metal towers :o

It was time for... Life Lesson with Will! What a weird guy he was :P
I really thought that he was hidding something, but he's just a simple man who flee war with his love. A simple man full of wisdom, living a simple life. May they find a cure ༼ つ ಥ_ಥ ༽つ

Next episode, they reunite for sure, or I'm gonna be real mad! May the power of love bring them together! (ಥ_ಥ)

I really loved Will and the way he cared for his wife. Such a sweet guy <3

I also loved the lifestyle he led.

Although how did she suddenly become so ill just looking at that thing? I don't get what desperation sickness/disease is o_O

Pretty good episode again, even if it was a detour. Favorite two episodes of the show so far since they're ones I like with no real issues to point out and good characterization in both.

Will and Martha were nice together, especially Will for taking care of Martha like that in her vegetative state due to the Desperation Syndrome she suffered. It just shows that love has no boundaries. Renton's taken their relationship to heart and wishes to truly be with Eureka now no matter what problems both he and her have faced physically and even psychologically.

Kinda sad seeing Will's situation at least he hasn't lost hope. In his flashback we see more unexplained fighting, really wish the show would explain what the military is fighting for or why the gekkostate is anti-miltia. Especially since it seems there is no concept of countries just different people and regions.
