I have recently been watching alot of series lately (about 2-5 different series a month) and I have noticd that a high majority of these have quite horrible endings even though they were good the whole way through, any suggestions for why this is occuring?

ha lots of anime's end like that. They do something completely unexpected or really typically awful ... maybe it's because they want to be original or maybe they cut corners due to deadlines, it's unknown to me?

Maybe we all have set our expectations to high. i do that all the time and end up being disappointed

i don't know the answer to this one im afraid. I want to know what other people think though ... good question.

Message from me to you :P

It's not just anime though, look at the entertainment media in general. TV shows, Films, Videogames, they all seem to be going into a state of Bad Ending Syndrome. Well, more like it's been that way for a few years now, but it's still getting more common.

I think it happens often nowdays because increasingly you see alot of the creative freedom taken out of the mangaka's hands and the story gets directed by people who care more about the sales than the direction of the story itself.

Perhaps it's an example of when too much popularity becomes a bad thing (just look at all those Naruto fillers they had!).

a lot of the time they only do the first volume or 2 of the manga so while the manga is still going they cut the anime short
