Display your latest photos, artwork, drawings, etc. You don't have to be Picasso (or Billcasso) to participate. Feel free to critique each other's work, but please be kind. Don't just say "your drawing sux". And please put image into spoiler tags.

I'm doing this for a card LE entitled "Guns and Flowers". I mostly watch fantasy anime so I really haven't seen too many with guns. I guess I can randomly search, but if you have some suggestions let me know.

While not technically anime, currently I am a big fan of Hatsune Miku.
At least I can go see her in concert.

Oh thanks guys *___* Maybe I'll post more my sketches later, but I'd like to see yours as well!

@Lotus

I'll start my senior year of travelling industry and my major is organizing tourism activities, but in this autumn I'll be at the school only a few weeks before my last learning-on-the-job period starts. This time I'll work at Russian travel agency in Helsinki. ( before I've been working at the airport hotel reception and at the programme service company).

I think this thread is turning to " all about Lumikki's life thread", but maybe it's good to have some convo here while waiting for more awesome pics and sketches.

@ Dear American fellows.

Oh, thanks for your invites alot <3 Columbus looks so big!! Like whoa, super high and modern buildings and neon lights, everything in America seems so huge to me. I think everyone should post pics from their hometown to the travelling thread etc.

Sad there are only a few direct flights to USA from HKI (or HEL[L]), which is more specialized in Asia routes since HKI airport is the closest airport to Asia in Europe.

Well, at least I posted some photos (I didn't take them myself, but at least it's on topic)

BTW, I'll post some more cards as I make them. Found some good renders of girls with guns, also some of Abel from Trinity Blood, then I'll combine with some of my flower photos. I also found some drawings with both guns and flowers. I don't know if I'm supposed to make them psychedelic. That's going to take a lot more time and I only have a few days...

The Hetalia one with the dog (seems so real) is ubercute.

@Odge
Yours looks so pro, as usual.

Now I feel like posting something myself. Don't have anything new atm, but I'll dig up something from the archive.

Fairly old creation, I made this when I was incredibly bored and had waaaaay too much free time (I resized it cuz it was too big)

Oh, I just remembered, I have something new - a Shiki wallpaper. Well, it can't actually be called a proper wallpaper since I made it in 5 minutes and it's totally plain (cuz I like to keep my desktop simple) but I'll post it. I just felt like making one after finishing the manga.

I'm doing these for some custom cards someone is making for me. The first one I added the text and smudged the cape to make the image wider. All credit for the drawing goes elsewhere. Second one I judged combined the two images then lowered the opacity of the background. Again credit for original drawing goes elsewhere.

My first time ever drawing Aisha this was last year but since then ive bought books on drawing and ive been trying to draw more and more. In the fall i got Computer Graphics im starting plus tossing in some more Art Classes hoping to better my Drawings.

First time reading a book and just looking at Photos of how to make things better and how to center things. I was horrible with centering eyes :( till i read the book on how to better my drawings face wise.

Thing is lol i was going by a picture from my Cell Phone and as small as the picture was i think i did okay on it haha... to blow up the head and make it like i did for a first timer drawing it :O well i hope X3 ;..;. I see some lines i could have like fixed but like i said it was my first drawing ever. First time ive ever showed my drawings but still pretty shy about it. 2nd pic was a from a book i was reading and learning steps as i was reading about how to make jaw lines and centering your eyes and stuff.

That looks nice. I actually sort of like the "unfinished" look.

@Static

I also suck at drawing, but I thought yours were good for someone just starting out. I took a class in college. We mostly used charcoal and sometimes chalk and drew 3d objects which are trickier than 2d. I'm ok at 2d if I have the image right in front of me. I good trick I learned from a book is turn the image you're drawing from upside down and draw it that way. There's an image of Ichigo I want to draw and then photoshop it so I invert the black and white so it looks like the lines are white and the empty space is black

if you are still interested in an opinion about the trigun ones, I think the one I'm quoting here is the best, because of the difference in the colors, the chara stands out the best.

Oh, yes, PS has a lot of options, I can see how it can seem daunting.
Actual drawing in PS is great if you have a tablet, otherwise it's a painstaking task. I did that first pic I posted with just a mouse so I know >.<

EDIT:
Here's another one, made in January. I don't even remember why I decided to draw it since I haven't bought a tablet yet (must be boredom again), even though it doesn't look like it, it took me forever.

yea, when I only look at all the different brushes that are there... there are so many...left aside that you can dl or make some yourself as well o.o'
....and when I found a nice one I usually don't remember which it was later on -.-'' oh well, some when.. xD

I like the way you did the leaves in the background of the new one. After looking at your photos again I like them more than the first time I saw them. I'm sure the originals looked great, but I like the photoshop tweaks you made. there is a slightly surreal quality to them. Also sort likes like images from a video game in parts of it. Would mind sharing what you did if you remember?

@Hel

Looks interesting. They sort of look like paintings. Please post more as you continue to work with this new medium. I like the one of Rei also that you posted on deviant art. One thing you might want to try is to do a line drawing first and then scan it into the computer and then paint over it. I don't know much about drawing, but someone else who did digital drawing told me that was what she did.

Thanks for the input. I actually ended up combining the two images:

@Lotus
Now that card looks pro, great job!

Tnx, I wanted to achieve that kinda unusual look.
Here's the original of the first photo, can't find the other one right now.

What I did...Heh, I don't remember very well, but the most important adjustment was HDR Toning with Surrealistic settings; I prolly did some minor tweaks too but obviously nothing important since I can't remember.

Yea, I try that sometimes as well. Though I don't really use drawings that I drew with pencil first and then scan it, but rather that I draw a line art in ps.. but usually I get impatient and I don't finish it or I mess up with the layers or whatever ^^

but I also like to draw or rather paint like those I posted, and try to not use lines at all, or as less as possible, just to try out different styles or ways to bring something on paper ^^

Thanks. You know the other two cardmakers didn't bother making any their images psychedelic. I'm still glad you challenged me to try.

That photo is still pretty good. You probably could have just adjusted the levels and would have looked great. Sometime I'll have to ask you more about those settings, but we already have enough projects going on right now.

Great, glad to hear it.

Yeah, I know the photo isn't bad at all, and you're right, some toning, adjusting contrast and such would usually be more than enough. And that's what I do when working with, say, family photos. But with those photos I felt like experimenting, doing it just for fun.
Sure, just drop me a comment whenever you have questions.

While we're talking about PS and such stuff, here's an example of another effect I think is really cool - tilt-shift.

Okay, this photo's prolly not the best example, but if done well tilt-shift technique can make a photo look like very much like a miniature scale model.
