| That was pretty deep. Gintoki made the father cry with just his words/actions alone. Too bad about his death, those children are definitely going to suffer, and both the Shinsengumi and Yorozuya knew it. Sakata Gintoki has topped himself yet again this episode... Sakata Gintoki said: “Whether I go or not, I’m going to die. Inside me, I have an organ that's more important than my heart. Although it's not visible, I feel it going right through my head and down to my legs, and I know that it exists inside me. It’s the one that lets me stand up straight and walk forward, even when I'm bleeding and dizzy, without ever trembling. If I stopped here, I feel like it would break… My soul would break in two. To me, that’s even more important than if my heart stops beating. Even if I become old and my back is bent, my soul will still stand tall…“ It was also good to finally see a sincere side of Sougo and Hijikata, they're role in this episode was good. Kagura and Shinpachi had their moments as well. Where is Takasugi? He'll be left behind as a favourite character potential at this rate. |

| Ugh, getting attached to minor characters is always my biggest mistake. ;_; Nice to seem some development here between all the characters, but especially between the main three and the Shinsengumi. Also Okita himself especially - it was nice to see a new side to him that wasn't entirely sadistic. I wonder what happened to the kids though... D: Hopefully they come back or we get answers another time. |

| Against my better judgement, I watched another episode. Someone convinced me since this is another serious episode. .... Eh. Not as good as 24 but still better than almost every other episode in the anime. Really wish it was nothing but the serious episodes, those are at least not terrible, unlike the all the unintentionally unfunny episodes. |

If you really want to drop it (or eternally on hold) I would really hope, that you at least watch the first movie "Benizakura" (which is a remaster of the episodes 58-61) to at least get a clue of what is to come. If the serious episodes are more enjoyable for you, just only watch them. The grand final for now (Episode 300-316) will become better the more episodes you watch, but it's better that you reach these episodes then to never touch them.
