I'm taking a guess here, but I think atleast SS-Ayu is going to sub this season too. They subbed the two previous seasons, so I'm not seeing why they would skip this one.
Something.

I noticed that this morning too ^_^ But I want to see who else jumps into the group, I've never heard about Minori-Osu! :(

Can someone who d/loaded it give us an opinion about Minori-Osu!'s subs? Never heard of them, and I don't really wanna download crappy subs. I'd rather wait for SS-Ayu's subs. I have enough ecchi animes to watch anyway, not really in a hurry.

Is this Minori-Osu! first sub or have they done anything else notable since I haven't heard of them before?

Their website seems to contain only one entry and that's the one about the release of the first Znt3 episode. I found the quality quite good though..

From the limited Jap i know, they seem accurate. (dont take my word for it)
As for everything else, it's quite good, ie good karaoke, typsetting, font etc.

Minori-Osu! did a good job. Definitly not the best quality I've ever seen, but I was impressed that they were able to get it out in a day with a good karaoke.

I found it a bit disturbing that Minori-Osu! translated "are you ok?" 3 times in a row with "are you scared?". Maybe it's another correct translation but it didn't seem to fit the context. That really bugged me a bit.

Other than that I had no problems with their work.

On the contrary, I think it's good that they don't use stupid HD-consuming 720p upscales, like it's "in" with many of today's group.
It's really hard to tell if it's a pretty useless upscale or really worth the space (aka true HD).

I was really confused with all the good joint fansubs doing ~PnR~. But hey, SS-Eclipse in the house, so it simply means all the other groups have been bitchslapped. ^_^

On another note, I believe Static-Subs always paired with Ayu [SS-Ayu] when it comes to ZnT. Wonder what happened.

oh also

the RAW they used (i think) was super uber high quality compared to other subs

better than AS-Chihiro because they used an upscale (and if SS-Eclipse used an upscale... well, it didn't look like it xD)

better than Minori-Osu because of the quality of the RAW (1240 x 740 > everything)

They lost interest in the project and dropped out. So Eclipse came to help SS. It's a trade for SS helping Eclipse with the Slayers Revolutions project they wanted to do.

the only problem i MIGHT have with eclipse and SS is the way they put louise's last names
in the Translation from eclipse they put it as
Louise Francoise Lu Blan de La Valliere
shouldn't it be Le Blanc instead of Lu Blan?
i dont know, i have not been following SS-Ayu, but i am pretty sure it is Le Blanc.

Well now, I've watched SS-Eclipse and yeah, they seem to have mistranslations/truncated lines here and there and some weird words too. The name of Louise was wrong as well. I guess I was too early to judge and a bit biased to.

Seemingly, ASF-Chihiro did a better and more fitting job w/ the TL and it just sucks they are now DROPPING the series after releasing ep. 02. One of their reasons? It's because SS-Eclipse took the project and the guys at ASF-Chihiro felt they were nobodies and people wouldn't care anymore about their releases. I actually preferred their TL better. They put themselves down. Now, there's no choice but SS-Eclipse since they're the only ones left releasing in AVI format.

I found a difference between Eclipse and the new fansubbers in episode one. The dialog is in the beginning.

Eclipse translated it:
Louise: It-It's still light!
Saito: Th... Th-then when it gets dark?
Louise: A-After asking the primogenitor, Burimill, and Mother. (I find this weird though, why would she have to ASK these two persons before doing it with Saito? But who knows D:)

Minori: translated it:
Louise: It's still early!
Saito: Then what about at night?
Louise: I have to pay my respects to my ancestors with my mother. (I find this more likely, but still...)

Does anyone know what's REALLY being said here? I'm really confused (have not watched chihiro's version)

That was the weird word I was talking about. ASF-Chihiro translated it pretty much the same as Minori-Osu!

I'm a H-U-G-E fan of SS-Eclipse, but I'm saying this from an objective point of view:

Let's face it. SS-Eclipse is a SUCKY pick for ZnT 3. Here are the errors of SS-Eclipse, especially w/ the official terms:

(Correct --> Incorrect)
*Le Blanc --> Lu Blan
*Osman --> Ottman
*Mrs. Longueville --> Mrs. Longbill
*Kirche Zerbst --> Kirche Zelpusto
*Tristain -->Trysting

And another problem w/ SS-Eclipse is the usage of the terms "aristocrat" & "plebeian" instead of "noble" & "commoner", which according to Anime News Network is the proper terms.

That's a lot to be overlooked at. Sad to say, this is SS-Eclipse's first "FAIL" TL-wise. ASF-Chihiro did a much better/legit TL but they dropped it. Luckily, KuroNeko has announced tentative plans of doing the project depending on the availability of staff. They've done a good job w/ the past 2 seasons, so let's hope they continue it this 3rd season.

And to answer the question, yes Minori-Osu! is the best pick (for now).

Eclipse also translate "yonsei" to "Fairy" and not "Elf" which I think is the correct term. Other than this, I'm fine with it.

Is it true that the project was dropped? A friend told me, but I'm not sure if he was referring to Osu! or SS-Eclipse or both, and now that I recall it has been a bit since the last release.

I just searched fast on the sub group websites and nobody has mentioned there of the projects being dropped?

Yonsei actually means fairy. In ZnT, they use the word Elf when referring to one, so Eclipse didn't really make that mistake, though IIRC, they used the word Elf, when they should have used fairy.

Osu! released episode 4 some hours ago, but I heard they had dropped it.
SS-Eclipse didn't dropped it, but their translator is away due to real life issues, so it's not certain when they'll resume their releases, or so I heard.

osu-osu.net doesn't seem to exist anymore, so i assume u mean minori, but what he released wasn't episode 4, it was episode 9 and he's made it clear that he has no intention of subbing 4-8 even though no one seems to have done 8 yet :/
