| Just started watching the series, and I must say - something hit me, hard. I wasn't expecting anything from the anime (though had I heard the director being same as in Utena, I would definitely have) so when everything turned out like it did, very chaotic, I was hooked. I'm a sucker for surrealism, not to mention. Transformation scene was absolutely fabulous. Animation style is a tad too cute for me but I'm probably going to get used to it. (If Penguindrum turns out to be incest, it's going to be one of the few ones I actually like.) |
| I checked this because it is from the creator of Utena and Utena is one of my favorite anime. The first episode was great & so weird like Utena as I expected. That transformation was so fabulous. Let's hope there will be a character like Akio too. |

| Crazy episode ! best new anime for me : ) but the kiss scene .. -__- I liked the strong bond between the brothers anyway and the art direction was amazing .. great use of colors . |

| Weird stuff going on, but one hell of an awesome first episode. :) On a semi-related note, I despised Utena completely, I thought it was total shit ... yet I'm enjoying this show, so maybe the creator shook off some of the suck since Utena. Hope it stays this good, but I'm sure it'll lose momentum after awhile. For right now tho, penguins ftw! 5/5 |
That was really weird. And really boring for a time. Only a little past the halfway point when things got ...penguiny, did I start to perk up and get interested. Don't get me wrong, the show is beautiful, the music is at least interesting right now. I just don't know if I'd keep watching this show past the first episode if itwasn't for the pedigree ...and that kiss. |

| after reading a few reviews from various sites (and friend recommendations >_>;) i decided to give this a go lulz i like the originality of the anime and those super cute penguins the art isnt as bad as what people made it out to be and the colorfulness is actually refreshing but honestly i didnt expect that uhh incest kiss at the end o_O i didnt mind it that much but i thought it was quite random more so than the mahou shoujo transformation scene thing LOL too early to say in episode one but its in my watch list for the rest of the summer |
| I'm gonna be honest... I didn't get anything in this episode. Last five-ten minutes were so random. You don't have the suddenly magical-powered sister turn naked, rip the brother's heart out, and then randomly switch to a scene of her asleep and the brother kissing her. And expect a random rambling about fate to fit in somehow. =/ |

| Lol. I'm thoroughly amused. And the review in this anime's introduction page simply enhanced it over 9000. All those maintained randomness coated with color and penguin... I'm enjoying it, and surprisingly I'm looking forward to the story next. I think I'll love this one. |

| Ok that last part was unexpected! I understand now why people were referring to this anime as "unique". I can certainly see that and I'm only in the first ep. I saw interesting dialogue in the beginning, drama, creepiness, comedy, PENGUINS! And then "that" happened! That was a lot for one episode, I must say I'm very curious to continue watching. |
