I thought it would be fun if we determined our personality type and shared them with each other. You can take the test here: (make sure to read the information on the links provided after taking the test)
http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp

The results are based on the Myers-Briggs personality type which were originally derived from Carl Jung. Here's a site that tells more information about Myers-Briggs
http://www.myersbriggs.org/my-mbti-personality-type/

There are 16 possible types. Here's a description of all 16 types:
http://www.myersbriggs.org/my-mbti-personality-type/mbti-basics/the-16-mbti-types.asp

Once you get a description from the above links (one from the test and one from the link that describes all 16 types) you can post it here. Also, if you want more information there is a great book called The Art of Speedreading People.

For example, mine is INFP
Idealistic, loyal to their values and to people who are important to them. Want an external life that is congruent with their values. Curious, quick to see possibilities, can be catalysts for implementing ideas. Seek to understand people and to help them fulfill their potential. Adaptable, flexible, and accepting unless a value is threatened

I found an interesting website that has a lot of free articles about becoming better socially. This should be especially important for introverts.

Quiet, friendly, sensitive, and kind. Enjoy the present moment, what’s going on around them. Like to have their own space and to work within their own time frame. Loyal and committed to their values and to people who are important to them. Dislike disagreements and conflicts, do not force their opinions or values on others

yeah hard to disagree, for better or worse

An interesting thing about mine. One the last letter, I'm pretty close between judger and perceiver. But my parents are also close between the two. They are messy, disorganized, late to appointments, yet they can also be very judgemental of others and most likely also themselves. I've been the same way throughout my life though I'm closer to perceiver and they're closer to judger.

I was thinking, maybe people can also list what they do for work or are studying in school and how this applies to that

INTJ
Have original minds and great drive for implementing their ideas and achieving their goals. Quickly see patterns in external events and develop long-range explanatory perspectives. When committed, organize a job and carry it through. Skeptical and independent, have high standards of competence and performance – for themselves and others.

That was kind of fun. Fairly accurate description too, I'd say.

Quite a good test, and pretty accurate. Especially the part that says 'skeptical and independent' - perfect description.

ENFJ
Warm, empathetic, responsive, and responsible. Highly attuned to the emotions, needs, and motivations of others. Find potential in everyone, want to help others fulfill their potential. May act as catalysts for individual and group growth. Loyal, responsive to praise and criticism. Sociable, facilitate others in a group, and provide inspiring leadership.

Funny how I'm always almost 50/50 on the extroverted and introverted scale, but usually on tests I've taken like this I'm almost always extroverted. Maybe it depends on my mood? Derp.

But yeah, I love these kinds of tests; they're usually very accurate. :D

Oh, yeah. I'm a writer/artsy chick, but this has me placed for jobs like social work and being a teacher and stuff. While that would be nice, I guess, and I'm sure I could do great in them, sometimes people are so annoying...!!

I suppose, placed in obvious situations where they're not going to be complaining to you, or rather talking to you, will be easier, but still, haha. At least I am learning young that people can be two-faced. No offense, all you awesome people here. :DDD

ENTP (The Visionaries)
Quick, ingenious, stimulating, alert, and outspoken. Resourceful in solving new and challenging problems. Adept at generating conceptual possibilities and then analyzing them strategically. Good at reading other people. Bored by routine, will seldom do the same thing the same way, apt to turn to one new interest after another.

I'm the second E one here? And the first ENTP! I've taken the test in various sites and each time this result comes up. Most of the times my E and I are close, but it's always E>I in my results.
Also the T is close with the F, and T always wins even for a little.

These tests don't work for me. I have two people in my head after all.

If I took it between waking and before sex, I get a completely different person to who I spend the day as.

My male side is mainly bitter about how life has turned out for him. He's mainly angry and just not much fun. Not that life is a bed of roses for me either. How would you like looking in the mirror girls, and seeing a balding old man.

I feel like a dual gendered anime character that has had the original male side abandon the body most of the day and stuck me with it without the benefit of actually changing physically for me first.
While not technically anime, currently I am a big fan of Hatsune Miku.
At least I can go see her in concert.

ENFPs have lots in common with us ENTPs. Sometimes I can't stand your F sides.. which means putting feelings above logical thinking.. I'm a person that mostly works with mind processing thoughts rather than pure feelings. But apart from that, we've got lots in common. You should check out more in personalitycafe.com. The people there are very friendly and will help you learn more about your type.

Btw.. i'm still eagerly waiting for another ENTP to appear in this club!! Come on! There must be someone else there! ^.^

I decided to actually take the test. It says I'm 1% more a judger than perceiver. I still think I'm closer to perceiver, but I knew I was right in the middle just like my parents are. Maybe I just don't want to admit I'm like my parents (who are slightly more judgers), but I think it could just be the way the particular questions in the test were structured.

My dad is also an INTJ. It seems this club also has a lot of them. Here is a link to more information about Judging vs Perceiving. I was skimming it and apparently judging is different from being judgemental. Actually, I'm not sure my parents are judgers because I thought it had to do with being judgemental and feeling self-righteous. I'll have to read more about this now.

Ahh, thx for the link @ Lotus. I was thinking if it means something like that:

"Do not confuse Judging with judgmental, in its negative sense about people and events. They are not related."

But I'm glad to hear that they don't mean it like that, because then I would strongly disagree. ^^

There is another paragraph:

"...people who tend to focus on making decisions have a preference for Judging because they tend to like things decided. People who tend to focus on taking in information prefer Perceiving because they stay open to a final decision in order to get more information."

I don't know if I can actually say which one applies more for me. I do like having things decided, but e.g. when it comes to opinions I prefer having no opinion about something/someone than having one based on little information..
