| Such a quotable episode. "What's cookin?" "Special. Bell Peppers and Beef." and "The swimming bird will meet a woman. The bird will be hunted by this woman. And then...death. "Spike: One more time" and also "Adios, cowboy" The dialog flows flawlessly. It's so real, it moves me as it did when I experienced it for the first time. The music, like in every single Bebop episode, was perfectly planned out. Most noticeably, the legendary "Spokey Dokey" at the beginning of the episode and the opening guitar tab for "Don't Bother None". Then again with "Road to the West" as Asimov and Katerina meet their demise towards mars. This was actually the 3rd or so episode of Bebop I watched because way back then, they aired random eps before airing all of them normally. Why didn't you like the ending? too depressing? I'll be commenting on a number of these threads as I'm rewatching Bebop in all new HD glory. |

| I can safely say, that I'm going to enjoy this anime a hell of a lot. Action, comedy, drama. All in one episode. It somehow has a nice atmosphere to it that reminds me of a child watching James Bond. Its a nice feeling. Probs cos of the awesome opening XD |

| Well if the first episode represents the rest of the show then I'm positive I'll enjoy this entire series. :D I quite liked the first episode, and the music was great. The ending sort of caught me of guard. Should've expected it. XD But yes, the dialogue was seemingly flawless and the animation is amazing. Can't wait to see the rest! |

| Loved it. The action was very good. Especially liked the soundtrack :O Creates a very neat atmosphere. There were plenty of comedy too, and good comedy. I think this is another anime that I will rate 10 :). But we will see! |

| rewatching this for the 2nd or third time, since Cartoon Network's Adult swim is airing it again. Excellent. One of the few animes where the dub is excellent. I love Spike's voice and his clown-like shoes. Great OPlooking foward to watching the entire series. The ED was awesome too. |

| Can't believe I JUST started watching series. I do remember some of the characters from TV before... used to be on [Adult Swim] or still is I guess... So Far I like it. |
| I'm watching the dub, and it's a really good dub. My favorite part it so far is the music, I love it. I don't know if this is going to keep my interest though. |

| It got me hooked from straight from that shoot out in the bar. I loved those 3 geezers checking out that chick...funny trio. The music fit the scenes and hit the emotions felt at that particular moment, like the ending of this episode. SO far it's proven great. Spice is climbing up that ladder of my soon to be favorite character. His dub voice is great. |

| I went into this worried it was going to be over-hyped. I came out with a friggen amazing action sequence, helluva good music, fun dialog between the characters, and most importantly. Good animation. Not a single damn thing I didn't like. |
| First time I watched this on Adult Swim, I had no idea what it was and brushed it off as a boring show. Second time, I started to notice the cool characters and settings. Now is the third time, and I get it. Took me so many years to get the chill atmosphere and the awesome music. This isn't the best thing I've watched, but it's definitely one of the better. Gonna have to watch it slower to enjoy it. |

| The beginning episode was okay.. it has a casual laid back feeling to it.. great opening song which felt like some James Bond movie hehe After the episode I still had many questions which weren't answered but that would be normal even after the 1st epi.. Spike is a mysterious character and I hope I can get to love this anime as the many others here on MAL has have. :-) |

| Over 12 years already and Cowboy bebop is still Ace and above MOST of the CRAP that is popular today, simply incredible. Everything is still fresh and phenomenal: OP, art, animation, soundtrack, ED, and as far as standalone episodes go, there is nothing that compares to Cowboy Bebop. And then there is Spike. I'm very excited to be watching this again, it's been a long time and I suddenly had the urge to do so. First episode is as memorable as I remember, so much fun throughout the episode and then such a depressing mood by the end. CB doesn't kid when it comes to execution. See You Space Cowboy... |

| Really, really good first episode. Maybe the very best first episode I've ever seen, I'm excited to be able to experience this again and this time I'll be checking out the Japanese version. Good stuff. |

| This show started out awesome. I love Spike already, and the animation is awesome. The atmosphere is also great, and i actually wouldn't mind if the whole show was just him going around collecting bounties. Also, GREAT music. |
| Good episode. Don't know entirely why but makes me think of Trigun meets Samurai Champloo |
| The artstyle looks a bit outdated but that is only a minor concern as the soundtrack and direction more than make up for it. The fight cinematography was great and we already get to know a lot about Spike simply by his interactions with others. |
