Ooo, so I was right about the old manager. He did sound just like an older Klaus after all, so. And I'm glad because again, it fits with the picture book story about the thief who forgot how to steal.

What I didn't think of however is that Ruhenheim and what's going on in it right now somewhat resembles the setting in The Monster Without a Name. Lunge basically pointed it out in this episode. Even the characters in it seem very... fictional. They certainly did when we were first introduced to Ruhenheim.

The fact that the town is now completely isolated and going crazy also feels very fictional. Like a typical mystery novel, as someone said in a previous topic. Plus A LOT of raining, can't forget that. It kinda makes me think of a combination between Hinamizawa and Rokkenjima. Seriously.

This. Very fitting actually.

That "Perfect Suicide" concept is so priceless. I love it so much.

Also, Lunge with a rifle is god-like.

Tbh I suspected the hotel guy was poppe. There was obvious misdirection happening to try and frame the old couple, but it didn't add up as the book collector in the previous episode hinted poppe was reformed. Also he looks much more the part than the old couple, and he is able to connect with children ( in a good way this time). Good ep, but tbh I'm a little salty with this ep when I recall the number of deaths that could have been avoided if tenma had killed Roberto and Johan, I mean sure, we wouldn't get the full story, but through his inability to actually pull the trigger all these deaths are happening as a result. Not much happened in this ep, so I'm eager to resolve this anime once and for all!!

Anyway, that Grimmer x Lunge moment at the end was badass af! even tho i have a feeling that Lunge's gonna die. Whenever a character in a show says "i'mma buy you a beer after this" that means there's no after this.

Grimmer channeled my inner self when he was talking mad AF to Franz… at this point even if you are a pacifist or you don’t want to take another person life you have to kill Roberto & Johan even if you believe in justice… knowing that if they live they may cause another calamity 2 people in this case doesn’t justify the thousands that these two may put in harm's way, especially with kids and the elderly… Tenma must pull the trigger twice!

I hope they capture Johan and hand them to the police. Believe it or not He is a victim too. He just need medical attention and (severe) shock therapy ;) Everyone deserve justice.

So sad they are going to kill lot of people now. But I am glad that Bonaparte has changed. His teaching help that boy in not killing those bullies.

Soon the heroes are gonna team up against the monster. The monster they all have inside them.

Not gonna lie I think this is kind of stupid. Maybe the manga explains it better but we really haven't seen random townspeople going crazy and shooting each other, just Roberto killing some people and the old couple handing out a few guns that weren't even all used. Like how the hell did everyone in the bar die, there's no reason for them to have suddenly gone shooting each other and it wouldn't make sense for Roberto to have just snuck in there and killed everyone without the drunk hearing a single shot.

Oh well, whatever. Lunge arming up was hilarious and cool, can't wait to see him go HAM on these guys. Roberto sleeping with yet another woman (probably killing her after) was also funny in a way.

Only 4 episodes. I wonder what Johan wants to accomplish, starting a massacre in the town. Does he want to give Bonaparta taste of his own medicine by making him like one of his picture book characters. It really is interesting.

I hope no one dies, especially Grima-san

Noooo! I wish Lunge hadn't promised to go for a beer... he is gonna die for sure. That final scene when he picked up the shotgun (?) was too awesome.

Best arc by a mile. Love the atmosphere, the horror, the "perfect suicide"... everything has been unpredictable: even the couple who won the lottery, who I would've bet would be the ones to start the massacre, are playing an unexpected role imo.

Just remembered that "wonderful" is relative. Roberto is the barbarian version of Johan.

So Klaus Poppe have repented from his ways. The mystery still wanders on who's the real Monster/Monsters.

This is going to be a massascre...

funny how lunge considers himself a detective (at the last scene) when he can't understand the existence of johan, I mean, regular people like dr gillen and dr reichwein understood the plot but a policeman like lunge is still debating about invisible humans. I would love if johan kills him

Seriously!? Just because Johan (if that's him they meant) is similar to their grandson, these couple go around the town handing out guns? I sometimes wish they would show how Johan can manipulate these ppl to hurt other people (the two times when he drove someone to suicide or twisting that kids mind don't count). I mean, I kind of get that with the kids, Roberto and the serial killers, because kids are gullible and at impressionable age and Roberto and these killers have inclination to violence already. But an old couple who were just missing their grandson, who probably never once in their life have killed someone? And how the old geezer was pretending to be handicapped, it seems very calculating to me, not like they were hypnotized to do it (which could explain their craziness). I think Monster is a good anime, but in retrospect, some plot points are ridiculous. They make Johan to be this omnipotent monster, but never really show his ability. At first it was fitting, to make him this mysterious and scary entity, but it's getting a bit tiresome and not believable anymore.

Yep, at the end of it all, I'm definitely gonna hate this part of monster. Johan is just made to be too supernatural. This whole massacre plot is also quite away from reality. But still, the series overall is good.

Definitely. Which is sad tbh.

It was apparent that the guy was Roberto and Poppe was the hotel guy. I really wonder how it will all come together at the end.

Lunge is finaly taking things into his own hands, maybe he will be the hero to kill Roberto

Franz Bonaparta idenity definitely was a surprise, just some old guy peacefully managing the hotel turned out to be author of such terrifying book.

The next 4 episodes definitely gonna be a blast and I have no idea what kind of shit will actually go down.

Knowing he once thought Tenma had a split personality, I kinda doubt Lunge's ability to tell people apart but still cool to see him take up arms
