do we really need continuous recaps of crap that happened 2 episodes ago? this show is becoming completely unwatchable :/

kinda surprised that Sakuragi didn't comment on Azai saying that Ruukawa would become number one in Japan and I'm a bit curious about whether Ruukawa's play style will change after this. also curious as to why it wasn't mentioned that Sakuragi has the same weakness only much much worse (at least when it comes to Ruukawa).

Lol, did anyone notice that "Einstürzende Neubauten" t-shirt on 10:06?
I wonder if there are more german band gimmicks that I haven't noticed in this anime...?

Well at the rate this is going I doubt there's going to be anymore large scale games. But damn after seeing those pictures of the American players, I'd love to see an entire 101 episodes of this dedicated to the NBA. That story of Yazawa was a sad one, naive ambition and good intentions to become stronger, only to go into a battlefield unarmed and untrained. And then only having a tragic end follow his crushed dreams to boot.

I might be over thinking it, but I feel like this was subtly comparing the two cultural differences - how the USA focuses on individualism and improving oneself whereas Japan is more collectivist and thinks about the bigger picture.

Glad we got to see the Devil Anzai :)

He was really really strict back then.

Yazawa was a fool. He went to the NBA too early. Even players here in the US itself, they still struggle if they went early.

Wow, he died of an illness. I thought he got murdered or something.

So that's why Anzai retired. He doesn't want Rukawa to become the same as well.

Very sad.

Coach Anzai was a completely different person before. His demeanor was more strict, so that kind of pushed Yasawa into leaving for America. No wonder he rejected Rukuwa’s request. He doesn’t want him to suffer the same fate as Yasawa.

I love the coach is a complete softie now.
