Spice and Wolf 2008: 8.22
Spice and Wolf II 2009: 8.31

And the score keeps decreasing for this remake. What can it mean? That the remake is worse than the original? Or that public tastes have perhaps changed and are now more severe? Or perhaps that today there is less tolerance among the public for nude scenes than in the past, given that many stop at the first episode?

I don’t necessarily think that. It’s only had 7 episodes come out at this point so it’s hard to say. For me personally, I enjoyed the original more up to this point, but I think it’s mostly because Holo was more mellow. She’s been made to be a lot more cutesy and uppity in the newer one (I’m assuming this was to cater to a newer audience). I appreciated the fact that she was mellow, wise, and didn’t flaunt her arrogance as much as she does in this new remake. Still am thoroughly enjoying it so far, but just not quite as much. Also, I doubt its nudity is the problem, seeing as they actually cut back on it a good bit from the original, but I guess that’s for the majority to say lol.

Also, as previous commenters have said, it’s really nowhere near a large enough difference to really analyze yet.

It is far too soon for any closure. As for me, I prefer to wait for all episodes, binged it, and just then give some rating. And I am sure many will do the same.

Yeah, not really worth comparing as many people score a show only when it finishes. I actually can’t believe so many people score as they watch, weird to me to be adjusting the score potentially several times as the series airs

Scores need to be interpreted: s2 is rated higher just because less people watched and rated it (sequel bias), but the general consensus is that s1 is better.

It's too early to tell how the remake will be rated when it will finish airing, I've seen anime jumping from 8.1 to 8.8 right after the last episode aired.

I don't see how a score that is lower by 0,02 and 0,11 points is a "lower" score. it's still a 8+
The difference is minimal so it's negligible.
