Hey, can you guys recommend me an anime that is based on real parenting struggles rather than a feel good anime which most of the anime in this category end up being. I liked the initial episodes of buddy daddies as it felt like a more serious anime but later turned into a feel good anime. Any recommendations, please let me know

Alright, I get what you mean, because I was told before as well that it takes a game of thrones turn. (If you haven’t watched got, I think they were referencing a relationship b/w jon snow and his aunt)

Personally, out of the bunch I have watched a few and am interested in Hinamatsuri, can you tell if it is worth watching?

Hinamatsuri is more of a comedy still recommend it was very funny. Somali & the forest spirit & The yakuza guide to babysitting is slightly more serious on the parenting side.

You MUST see Kotaro Lives Alone. it's not the prettiest anime, but it dives into the challenges of parenting a traumatized child, while still amking the child feel like a human instead of an obstacle the adult cast must overcome. truly incredible stuff

Yeah seen that one! That was pretty good but again mostly that was wholesome, which is fine but I wanted to know if there’s something that deals into some serious issues.

Tbh, the animation style has been keeping me from giving it a try. I know looks isn’t everything but still it made me a bit hesitant to start the anime. (I have not watched ranking of kings for the same reason😅)

Honestly I think that's why a lot of people didn't watch it so I totally feel ya. I almost didn't myself lol - but trust me, you cannot miss this one. the story and voice acting are AMAZING, whether watching the sub or dub (honestly, the dub might be one of my all time fave English dubs haha)

I think Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki is the best I can recommend. It is a movie but worth watching.

I felt just like you so I watched almost all of the childcare shows on Mal and I'd say the ones that focus the most on parenting are usagi drop, aishiteruze baby, sweetness and lightning, and I'll do anything for my daughter even defeat a demon lord, maybe even Somali and the forest spirit, wolf children and Maquia and kakushigoto

Yes, I agree with the other comment, Hinamatsuri is more of a comedy but does have a but of parenting in it. I highly recommend it I personally really loved it.

Aishiteruze Baby, early 2000s anime. I tried typing a summary over and over, but it's hard to encapsulate all the stuff that happens.
