The ending doesn't sit with me well - it's not that it's bitter, in fact, it wouldn't sit with me even if he had got with Haruka either.
Iono, 7/10 for me.
I didn't feel sad, just unsettled by it all. Not a satisfying feeling (and it's not because of the slightly bitter end).

IMO, they get married and in a few years have kids and a happy life. (Then Haruka's book comes out and Mitsuki reads it to her kids, telling them that the author was a friend of both her and daddy.)

So. Much. Drama. It's funny because I switched which heroine I would cheer for midway; I liked the blue haired girl at first but then she became really annoying and weak-willed, and the orange haired girl looked so much better after 3 years passed...hehe.

Not too happy about watching this, causes me to uneccessarily dwell deeply on it xDxD

Aha! Whoa, me too!

I hated Mitsuki by the end, and had real respect for Haruka.

When Haruka and Narumi were parting my eyes started tearing up.

What a crappy ending! It ruined the whole anime for me, I wasn't that crazy about it to begin with and I only watched it to see if he'll end up with Haruka. He didn't. Why did I even waste my time...

Yes I know there was a time skip. What I meant was like a look into their new lives, they really didn't show much other than the fact that they moved and Takayuki with his job. (not sure about this one)

Awesome ending, I am so glad that he started over with mitsuki.
She has made a horrible mistake after haruka had a accident.
But she really loved him..... She took care of him.. always.
She deserverd this. despite what she had done.

I wish they went with additional ending, where Mitsuki was reading Haruka picture book to her son.

Honestly, I hated Mitsuki. However, I never saw him picking Haruka ever. Mitsuki had so much more screen time and they really dug deeper into her emotions than Haruka. So the ending was sad but not surprising.

Still hate Mitsuki. The first moment I hated her was when she stopped Narumi to buy that stupid ring. I mean seriously, "It's my birthday, buy me something!"

I really felt so bad for Haruka, but her happy ending would not be a proper one so I think the ending was good, but very sad.

OK, My turn...I give the anime and ending a 10/10...now that we got that out of the way. I was rooting for Mitsuki... in the beginning....Ok....when Haruka got in an accident and they went 3 years later and Mitsuki and Narumi were dating.. I was still rooting for Mitsuki...When he started going to the hospital to help Haruka and she started getting drunk and feeling sad and upset...I was still rooting for Mitsuki....when ...Mitsuki was walking around and was going to the hotel with the guy...and Shinjii stopped her....I said "SWEET! he saved her!" "She was just drunk!". I was still rooting for Mitsuki... When Mitsuki F.ucked Shinjii...that is where the rooting ended...She cheated on Narumi for no reason...besides "Your going to the hospital for OUR friend who was in a coma! You love her don't you?!" Narumi didn't cheat on Mitsuki...not once..... I'm ok with him ending up with Mitsuki only because Haruka deserves better, than a weak, indecisive, person like Narumi. Now the female I did want Narumi with...was the Pink Haired Nurse LMAO! I'm sorry but its the truth! I wanted him to either have some feeling for the Pink Haired Nurse for WHATEVER REASON I DON'T EVEN CARE! Or the Blonde Head Girl Who Worked at his job! I didn't want him to choose Mitsuki or Haruka but someone else that was not a friend. Anyway, That is how I feel after just finishing the series less than 10 minutes ago. It was a good ride!!!!! WOOT Kimi ga Nozomu Eien 10/10!!!!!!

Blaming only Mitsuki for Haruka accident is petty, what about Takayuki or the driver? All these things happen in life, we have no control of it, but its just sad to blame something that happened to you on another person.

I would dislike Mitsuki, if only she intentionally did it on purpose.

SuppleTears said:
Usually I be piss off for the victim, if there partner cheated on them, but in Takayuri case, he deserves more than being cheated on. I don't know if your in a relationship or not, but how would you feel, if your boyfriend is constantly visiting his ex-girlfriend happily, which effects your relationship with him (barely any conversation, sex, or even a smile and all of this was before she complained to him). Any normal person would feel very depress, that the person they devoted their life to is possibility leaving you.

Takayuri keep stating he is obligated to visit Haruka until she fully recovers, but he is more obligated to his relationship with Mitsuki, who is his girlfriend. Throughout the series, he stated he loved Mitsuki more, but he doesn't act on it, it shows lack of initiative as a good boyfriend. Like Akane, Haruka and Shinji stated, he was to kind, but kindness can be cruel at times.

Don't you remember how long Mitsuki waited for him? He only came home, when she was sleeping and he didn't even eat the breakfast she made for him. What worst off, is she found them uneaten, what does that message portray to you mean? He hates me? He doesn't love me anymore? He wants me out of his life, so he can get back with Haruka? Takayuri is a douche during this time, he even avoided having a proper conversation with Mitsuki, to figure out what up with their relationship, communication is what makes a relationship of any sorts strong.

Mitsuki was easing her pain and depression with booze, which led up to having sex with another person. Afterwards, she felt guilty after realizing she had sex with another person and worst off, it was Shinji their friend. Yes, booze does influence thoughts and decisions, this further add to why I don't dislike her for cheating. I was actually hoping she would fall in love with Shinji and move on with life.

I don't know if your in a serious relationship or not, but think about it, would you want to be treated the same way as Mitsuki, by a douche like Takayuri.

Physical cheating vs. Lack of devotion? Both are bad, but I know which one hurts the most in this series situation...

My summary of the whole series:

Looks like its been a while since anyone posted here.

But I'll give this a 9/10

Wish I could give it a 10/10 but they drug out so much effort into a small plot that I felt was rushed in the end, ending was sad but it looks like they all came back together in the last few seconds of screentime so Im happy with that.

This was heart-wrenching all the way through... Haruka gets EVERYTHING taken away from her, abandoned by her best friend and her only love. WHAT A LOAD OF BULL!!!! And when she finally wakes up, she's forced to realize that her dreams of love were just that, a DREAM. I HATE how Mitsuki was the one who "suffered" when she was the one who seduced Takayuki and betrayed her best friend who was pretty much dead for 3 years. Next Season is the TRUE ENDING for me.

-end of rant.

Wow, that is not the ending I was expecting. I thought either he and Haruka would start over, or he'd go off with nothing but the memories. But I'm happy with the ending, in the end Haruka was right, they had all changed. And time can do that to friends. I've seen some things like this in my own light.

I'll mull what I'll rate this as there were some animation 'glitches' that I noticed, and the plot was drug out perhaps more than it had to be.
Be thankful for those you have near who are dear
For time is not always kind to those who would be on your mind
Seize the day, some exclaim, but that which is past, no more shall have its day.

I guess I'll go ahead and give me two cents on the series.

I have to say that if there was anything "good" about this anime it was Haruka's resolve in the end, waking up from a 3 year old sleep as if it were only a couple days to find out her best friend betrayed her, she lost who was the love of her life ... she basically lost everything and was able to push herself to get back on track of a normal life and fulfilled her dreams of becoming a novelist for childrens book, fight on Haruka.

Now let's dive into our other main characters or rather ... the sinners. Ok now who was at fault for Haruka's potential death, well I highly doubt buying a ring for Mitsuki took THAT long to prevent Haruka's injury so I'm going to lay the blame on Narumi for this one. Since were on the topic of Narumi lets stick on the details on him right now, He never really "abandoned" Haruka ... however he did go through like ... a state of hopelessness after being told to never see Haruka ever again by her parents when he tried to take her out of the hospital, I can understand his good heart but he clearly wasn't in a calm state of mind. He was a lifeless corpse who was brought back to life by ... sinner number 2 .. Mitsuki.

Mitsuki, is selfish ... Thats what I think. You don't ever hook your best friend up with a boy and then ask the boy to buy you a ring for your birthday while he is on the way to his date. While i do give her thumbs up for bringing Narumi back to life I didn't like how she practically threw herself at him, nude and all. Narumi at this time still had Haruka on his mind until Mitsuki decided to bring herself more into his life, I think at this point they have both forgotten about her.

So with that years pass and Narumi and Mitsuki are hard working adults now who gave up on their dreams, Narumi was supposed to go to a good college with Haruka and Mitsuki was supposed to be a pro swimmer with little to no thought of Haruka in their minds until they see Akane one day who mentioned that she'll be visiting her sister ... of course guilt flow through them but they shrug it off.

And this is where shit goes crazy, Haruka wakes up and everything is a clusterfuck of mixed thoughts and paranoia. Narumi can't help but feel responsible for her accident and goes to see her and Mitsuki can't help but feel guilty for taking her best friends boyfriend away. After the first meaning Narumi feels an obligation to see her more to keep her going during this her goes through a cycle of emotions of who does he love, Haruka or Mitsuki. Mitsuki at this time doesnt give a *** about Haruka and only cares about whether or not Narumi will stay with her now as she feels like a replacement ultimately making herself look like a **** by demanding he not see her anymore when Haruka needs him the most (some best friend), while I can understand Mitsukis fear of losing Narumi who is basically all she has left ... I can't also help but think of it as karma.

The show continues and Mitsuki goes through alot of depression as she tries to force her way into Narumi's life more and more at the hope of not losing him which leads to her clumsy behavior and drinking habits which almost lead her to get ... raped I guess, luckily we had best friend number 4 there to save her ... only to get caught up in the drunken Mitsukis pull which lead to a night of pleasure for the both of them. I wouldn't say Shinji is at fault here ... entirely, I guess you could say he got caught up in the moment but he needed to react to her pull, Mitsuki on the other hand was just a hopeless wreck and at that point I really did wish the worse for her, betray your best friend and cheat on Narumi ... way to live life.

In the end the story was about moving on, I can respect that to a certain extent ... but I still can't help but feel theres just too much wrong in this series.

It is indeed a series that angers viewers. Though no matter how angry you get at the story and the characters, in the end, you'll (hopefully) realize that the entire story was well put together and that they did a great job of pulling off an overall "happy" ending, even if to the viewers, you may feel that Haruka got cheated. And trust me, I'm definitely one of those people who strongly feels bad for how Haruka got practically the short end of the stick in every aspect, even so, I won't deny the fact that it was well done. I find it a lot better and less disturbing than School Days' twisted ending. If the writters wanted to go for a more "evil" ending, they would do NarumixHaruka, then leave Mitsuki to be alone without anyone as punishment for all the crap she pulled.

Jesus,i feel sorry for saying this but i prefered that Takayuki stayed with Haruka,i know that Mitsuki gave up her dream beacause of the guy and such but Haruka didn't had any luck and got hit by a car.And also the fact that she and Takayuki where a great couple and that the major fault of she being in the hospital was him.

Thats why I hated the end and cryed at the part where they said goodbye to each other.

Th ending felt right, you don't expect someone to wait for you for 3 years while you're in a coma. It's unrealistic for him to go with Haruka because Mitsuki was with him in his darkest hour, comforting him for a year. Kinda sucks for Haruka but life is life, s**t happens but you still have to give it your best.

I hated this show's guts because of the ending and Narumi's indecisiveness. Any show like that gets a big thumbs down from me. Like someone mentioned a few posts prior, Haruka was a victim of life and lost everything.

What a shitload of bull. *cursecursetrashtalkbashbashrant* I really can't say how much I detested the Narumi and Mitsuki ending. But, that's about the only thing bad about the show.. : Akane-chan was the amazingest character. Just had to point that out. :3

I TOOTALLLY AGREE! A BUNCH OF BULL CRAPSHIT PILE !$!@$!@$
I DIDN"T DETEST THE ENDING! I WANT TO FUCKING BLOW IT OUT OF MY MEMMORY! IT RUNED THE ANIME!
Akane... I felt could have pushed Harkua x Narumi ending more, god dam MItsuki can die!

I am so mad at the ending it personally ruined the anime for me
1. Narumi obviously treated and ignored Mitsuki because he had realized he still harbours love for Haruka.
2. Mitsuki is a total slut sleeing with Shinji they are both my most hated anime characters of all time.
3. Narumi in the end i felt like he felt obliged to mitsuki because of what she gave up, what she gave up was because she was a friend, yes she loved him but obvously the feelings weren't mutual till he realized what she had done for him during the "rough" times and even then it wasn't life, it was an obligation.
4. screw you realistic ending folks. if a guy is spending 1 year in depression it is obvious he has major devotion to the girl!
5. wouldn't it be intresting if haruka got pregnant during her coma?
6. Mitsuki tottally took advantage of the situation and this is somewhat Narumi's fault too! he boned her because he was depressed, and then he wanted more because hes a guy and he felt horny, and more and more, this is not a relationship this is like two dogs having sex because they are horny.
7. Mitsuki is soo fragile i just wish she broke in half and died. Total slut.

Haruka is left all alone, I felt she really deserved better than this ending, she spent all her time rejecting the other guys prior to her coma, and plus her devotion to her friends! She is soo wise and strong minded.

Ok yea mitsuki sacrified most but that is only pity on her, Narumi pities her and therefore is INDEBTED TO HER! HE DOES NOT LOVE HER! yea he may feel lonely because she isn't there anymore THAT CAN BE EASILY FIXED BY GOD DAM HARU GETING OUT OF THE HOSPITAL SOONER OR LATER!

I really prefered the OVA, it made me more teary, Haruka ran away because she was really considerate of the situation and really really deserved to be with him in the end.

I somehow wish this ending was like in the game....
Mitsuki is used as a sex slave.... like she wasn't one already but what ever.

But i did want him to choose Haruka. Oh well, hear theres a OVA, ill have to check it out.

I thought the saddest part was where they all pretty much decided to split up and not be friends anymore, would suck losing all your friends in the snap of a finger.

Even at the end, telling Mitsuki he told Haruka EVERYTHING. Liarliar. he's a weak person, who needs someone to support him.
I am happy for Mitsuki though, she truly LOVED him.
Even Haruka said in an episode "I really LIKE you", she wasn't mature enough to handle what love is.

The last ten minutes were the only part to make me teary eyed.

you are wrong here, it doesnt influence anything, it just lowers inhibitions where you act on impulses instead of thinking things through, its just an excuse to say "im drunk so i cant be accountable for my actions"

that out of the way, it kinda sucked to me that he didnt yell at the sister that it wasnt his choice to leave her side, but i guess feeling he was to blame for everything, he felt he had to shoulder every bit of the blame for everything that happened

couldnt believe shinji saved mitsuki, then knowing she was drunk, let her do as she wanted, wasnt even a real point in the fight before hand except he was the one that wanted the action, an what about telling his girl? someone shoulda told her so no ones in the dark lol

When I watch an anime (particularly ones where more than one girl is interested in one guy), I usually don't care which ending (girl) he chooses. I enjoy the story, and would be happy with any ending.

This anime, however, was different. My score (7/10) for this series would have been way lower if they had done the Haruka ending. For some reason, I jus wanted the Mitsuki ending. I'm so glad that they did it.

This ended... right. Nothing more to it.

It's a good love triangle when both choices are so plausible. But what is certain is that both girls deserved him. Well, they deserve better because he's such a boring guy, but they still both deserve to "win". I'm more leaned towards Mitsuki though, she supported Takayuki a lot in the crisis, she gave up a lot of important things for him and even "betraying" Haruka obviously burdened her all the time. The distance and lack of communication between Mitsuki and Takayuki was due to the Haruka matter being unresolved, so I think it's overall a good match. Going for Haruka instead would have had some sense of clinging to the past and filling a responsibility to deal with regrets. While it would have been noble in a way to support Haruka, that would be a questionable choice in a way for this work.

The story cut corners a lot, all those theatrically dramatic reactions and assuming fixtations of the characters all the time wouldn't be so much of a problem or not a problem at all if everyone's mentalies, friendships and so on were better developed before or at least alongside that heavy, emotional mess. Comic relief here was some of the worst ever, there were some supporting character development moments that didn't go anywhere and some just didn't get anything at all (like the emptiest parent characters ever). Symbolic elements in the story and visuals were kind of okay, but everything was very standard in the end. Oh well, at least this gave some more impact to a part of Muv-Luv :p

This series was painfully realistic, yet so disorientated at times.
Some very good advices given there by those side characters that could have been used on any part of life, not just the romantic side.

Takayuki's end speech, was very meh to me. Nothing convincing, plus all he talked about was himself and not how Mitsuki could actually be fulfilled by this relationship again. He just won her over by being melodramatic about his feelings.

I actually honestly didn't want him to end up with anyone (maybe Haruka because its was just personal character taste), he still seemed so lost and unstable to be in a relationship. Just kind of derping around and being emotionally dependant on girls. Or something. I dont know guys, this main character is not really doing it for me. He practically did nothing, but be nice and eat everything up.

The book story ending added a nice touch to it, but for some reason I didn't feel as overflown with emotions. I was just kind of content that everyone just moved the eff on and not be stuck in the past.
This anime was a bit of a pain to finish... it only made me frustrated and annoyed at the characters, couldn't actually feel any attachment to any of them. It was basically just a game of 'who is he going to choose?' and how much drama-filler can you squish in there? I'm a bit disappointed...

the ending was bad in the way that they made you think in many ways that he would be with haruto and then he just leaves her there at the beach and then never sees her again, what?! why would she be happy with that her best friend stabbed her in the back while she was in a comma. Think the whole thing would have been more emotional if the first two episodes did not cram in months worth or details so you would have felt more attached to their relationship

dunno why people feel mitsuki didnt deserve to be chosen when she sacrificed everything for yuki and she had feelings for him from the start of the series she jst didnt realise until he strted dating haruka. It was haruka who didnt have a chance as yuki went out with her from pitty and out of his stupidity neivity and his opinion of kindness he tried to pretend everything was normal so haruka wasnt hurt but spending 2-3 years with someone is much more then a memory of someone you where with for at school so there wasnt much real contest between the two

as is. this is one of my favorite series. now i think ill debate wether i shall do uni work or watch the ova

KimiNozo had the potential to be so much more than it was. It's refreshing to finally watch a series that doesn't have to rely on cheap melodrama to evoke an emotional response in its viewers. The emotions depicted were genuine and the series was painful to watch at times because of how realistically it portrayed the characters' thoughts and actions. The series would have had a devastating impact on me if the characters did not become mere plot devices whose sole purpose was to advance the plot. It seemed like they only existed out of necessity - they had to be present for there to actually be a story. It's a shame, because had the writers taken the time to develop them better and allowed the audience to become emotionally attached to the cast, KimiNozo could have been one of the best series in its genre. Extensive character development is necessary for a tragic drama like this to be effective. Because KimiNozo fails to accomplish this task, I simply cannot give it a rating higher than 5/10.

However, I must admit that the series finale ALMOST made me change my opinion about the series because of how well executed it was.

Damn those picture books were even more saddening than this whole anime, the first and the last with the song...

In the end this anime was actually pretty decent had a good story and character development and other than the betraying part the story was pretty decent.
The end was aslo rather touching and well it actually was a sweet ending! I do wonder what the small ova sequel will bring us.

But if I may be honest I wouldn't have watched this anime in the first place as there were to much recommendations to School Days that I totally disliked, comparing School Days with this anime is rather sad as it might downscale the view rate of this well not so bad anime.

Okey some of the topics come into this one as well as: love triangle, cheating, betraying but well this one actually has a decent story buildup and a sweet ending!

I didn't like the ending. I really don't feel like Haruka ended up happy. I loved her :(
I reallllllly hated mitsuki but ended up feeling really bad for her. She did suffer a lot.
The guy was just a jerk. Poor girls.
I still wanted him to end up with haruka and then have mitsuki get over him but still end up happy.
Poor haruka she really didn't deserve to be in that accident.
Or I at least wanted to see haruka with another guy or starting to like another guy.
She's the cutest thing ever.

I just hate Mitsuki lol. Although it's good that Haruka didn't end up with Narumi because he's a dick. Good anime, bad end imo.

Quite frankly your opinion is appalling and it is downright ridiculous that you think there are better anime that delivered drama. Name a single one. The only one I can think of that even comes close to matching Kiminozo is Anohana.

Glad they both ended up happy. Also glad it ended with Mitsuki x Takayuki... A bit more of a resolution, like, maybe a kiss or a scene when they are married 5 years later would have made it more complete.
