Didn’t chibi usa do that because she wanted to save neo queen serenity (her mother) with the help of sailor moon, because her mom used to tell her stories when she was little about sailor moon. (Without telling her it was actually herself) so chibi usa left with the crystal to find sailor moon

That's all right, I found out it was different from the manga, and chibiusa had actually the crystal inside her body. I actually finished season 2. Now for the movie.
EDIT: Actually, it's not canonical. On to season 3.
