(S; G) Isn't it an animation that many people brag about but is actually mediocre?

At least this provocation thread from a superior minded edge lord (delusional narcissist?) isn’t using Frieren to trigger as many actual anime fans as possible 😂

From a personal opinion, I don't like steins gate.... I think the problem is, if you ask someone why it's good they don't actually have a logical answer. It goes to show that steins gate fans are just bandwagoners who jump on the hype train and forgot to get off once the anime stopped being relevant years ago

@AnimeDownUnder I love Steins;Gate but that anime is not for everyone so if you don't like it then it's fair, I personally don't like FMAB either, I consider that one an overrated piece of crap so FMAB is obviously not for me either.

If you ask me why I believe Steins;Gate is good then I can provide a big ass wall of text on the things I loved about it and I don't feel like writing a big ass wall of text about it so I'll keep it short: I loved Steins;Gate because I enjoyed it, you don't need to provide a logical answer about it, this isn't rocket science, you simply praise what you love and you shit on the things you dislike.

@xZabuzax that's not what I said though...I said why it's good not why you like it. I simply ask people what makes steins gate "good" not why you like it. If you enjoy it that's not the same as an anime being good. That's simply what you like... some people like frozen pizzas, are they good pizzas? no

@AnimeDownUnder In that case, what makes Steins;Gate good? the story, the characters, the music, and the plot twists are what makes Steins;Gate good, is this not enough for you? I don't even need to provide a logical answer about it, I simply liked it and you didn't, if some people like frozen pizzas then that's what they like and they will have their reasons to like it, I certainly won't find it good but if they like it then good for them.

I just said I don't feel like writing a wall of text about it and at the end of the day, the review will be nothing but my personal opinion just like every other review on this website.

Story - both steins gate and dragonball gt have a bad story... both equally bad in this department

Characters - dragonball gt has good characters, steins gate doesn't

World building - dragonball gt has good world building, steins gate doesn't

Enjoyment - I enjoyed dragonball gt, I didn't enjoy steins gate it's boring and there isn't anything good about steins gate

Animation - both are bad, steins gate animation wasn't notable, nothing amazing or good happened with the animation in either show

Originality - dragonball gt is a more original idea and concept, steins gate nothing about it was original the time travel idea has been done a million times including even in gt years before steins gate even came out

Pacing - dragonball gt pacing isn't fast, but its not worse than steins gate where half the entire show nothing happens and the first half is really boring


So long story short, yes dragonball gt is kinda a bad anime in some aspects. But in every area where dragonball gt is bad, so is steins gate. It doesn't do those things well either

As a beginner anime enjoyer I can say that rating is important to me. When I decided to dive into anime, I didn't know where to start. And rating is an indicator of good quality so I started watching from the top.
Some of these were really good, and some of them confused me why they are rated so high. Stein's Gate was one of them. I enjoyed it, I like time travel, but this anime is not something I would watch twice. It has too generic characters which could be described with one word or sentence. And when you have so much dialogue with these characters you must have something more complicated.
