The 12th and final episode of the Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! 2nd Season (The Eminence in Shadow Season 2) television anime announced an anime movie titled Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! Movie: Zankyou-hen (The Eminence in Shadow: Lost Echoes) on Thursday, revealing a teaser visual (pictured).

Produced by Nexus, the 20-episode first anime season aired in Fall 2022. The second season began airing on October 4. HIDIVE simulcast both the first and second season worldwide, excluding Central America, South America, and Asia.

Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! adapts Daisuke Aizawa's comedy fantasy light novel, which he launched on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in May 2018. Kadokawa began publishing the series through its Enterbrain label with illustrations by Touzai in November 2018 and released the sixth volume on October 30. The light novel and manga have a cumulative 5 million copies of their volumes in circulation.

Anri Sakano (Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou desu yo? Z) launched a manga adaptation in Monthly Comp Ace in December 2018. The magazine also began serializing a spin-off by Seta U in July 2019. Kadokawa shipped the 12th and sixth volumes of each manga on October 26.

Yen Press licensed the light novel and manga adaptation in English and published the fourth novel volume in June 2022. The fifth manga volume went on sale on November 21.

Does the author of the original LN have dirt on some rich people or is it really that wildly popular?

Kadokawa's current gold goose, not surprised, specially since they teased this very same arc with the first episode of season 1.

Also nice to see how they had planned to adapt the entire LN (up to that point) since the beginning.

And why is Yen Press delaying the LN volumes? They are missing all the hype from the anime. Do they want to lose money? Are they complete idiots? Probably not, but also probably
there's a really dumb reason for this.

@3inPunisher it is for me cuz anime movies never release in my country so I have to wait at least 1 more year for even less content.

Oh yea that reminds me I need to get back into this series.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

Not the biggest fan of the concept of anime movies as sequels, but guess this is what is best for this arc.

@Jacynto

That is the main reason why I read fan translations if the titles are licensed by Yen Press.
Yen Press tends to license most of the big titles and big titles tend to have fan translations~

They won’t lose money considering that 90 percent of their licenses are big titles such as Unnamed Memory, Index, Angel, Roshidere, etc, :/

@NewestPersonHere Yeah, me too, I've read fan translated volume 5. Didn't know 6 was out. Actually I liked the web novel version better, funny it's mentioned in the anime (shadow goes to a prison, than the zombie attack) The 'back to Japan' arc is a bit silly in my opinion. Still good, though.
It just don't make sense the delay, it feels like they just don't care.

At this point, they gonna adapt up to the most recent novel, V6. Which is kinda great, but I wonder what they are going to do to the gacha once they caugh up with anime, as they use anime voices and images on the main story VN parts. Change the entirely of the format?

Wonder if 7 Shades Chronicles is ever getting OVAs. Would be a good spin-off.

@Ionliosite2 This is not a thing that begins with the Mugen Train bro.
monogatari, konosuba, Goblin Slayer, sora no otoshimono, Boruto, Dragon Ball; others can be: Youjo Senki, Violet Evergarden, No game No life, etc.
