I believe it was really just plot reasons and nothing like that but then again its been years since Ive seen Another, I could be mistaken and Im really not that great at seeing some of the subtler messages that can exist at times Sorry that I couldnt be of help |

Another is a horror-comedy, I don’t think anything about it should be taken seriously.

| Another doesn't have that type of symbolism, it's a simple horror story with dark and mysterious elements. If you want conspiracies, then try Gasaraki. It's about how the government are hiding the true japanese history (small spoiler: sengoku jidai happened on the asian continent and not solely in japan, they were that big in those times) and how they want to get rid of the american imperialism in asia. |

| I've seen both the anime and more recently the manga but from what I could remember I don't think it does. Would be cool is it does though. Maybe the novel or it's two sequels Another: Episode S and Another 2001 has more information. |
