| There have been many discussions about Runa, but this series has another main character: Ryuuto Kashima. What are your thoughts on Ryuuto? Do you like him? I think he is written in an average and generic way, but still he is not that bad. While he ain't relatable to me, I feel he has a good heart. |
| I don't care for Beta guys in general, but to watch them in anime? Can't lie it's a deal breaker but the girls they usually go for makes it worth. A honest to heart guy who lucked out (or maybe not?) on a gyaru girl who's clearly outta of his league. |

| putting aside the surrealism of anime, if this dude doesn't classify as a "nice guy" then the world is surely doomed. Or maybe not, because if this is how the not-nice guy is, then the nice guy must've been some real saint or something... Edit: On the question of whether I like him as a character or not, then yes. At least better than a character that's being unrealistically made into a danger magnet who constantly needs her cool girl to save his ass all the time. |

| He's not just a nice guy, he is The Nice Guy™, meaning someone who's very purpose is to signal virtue to the world through all of his harmless actions. The difference between a genuinely good guy and such a nice guy, is that the good guy is no one's pushover, while the nice guy is perpetually in the harmless mode as a self-defense mechanism. |
| Pretty unusual from other generic MC out there (what I mean is he's not really seeking attention on every chicks near him), which made me think why he's been really detested lately. |
His honesty made him a step above the rest, If others of his type thrown into this situation, they would squirm profusely just by the fact. |

| I think the male mc is pretty cute and nice just like Runa. He definitely seems to be more of an actual nerd, but it gives him some unique traits. Lots of respect for him criticizing his childhood friend for her gossip. He definitely got a pair. |

Even his relationship with Chizuru did not developed and his only way of associating with her is by renting her, depsite it being three seasons. He did not "went through" anything, because he himself admitted, that his life wasn't particularly tough. As such he has no way to relate to Chizuru, so any reasonable person would interpret Kazuya's advances as nothing more than trying to get inside her panties. His constant internal monologues we are being subjected to tell us everything we need to know about him. Author on the other hand might think that's how an actual affection and romance looks like, which is why it's considered as bad writing. |
