The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (light novel)
Announced during the live-streamed "Sneaker Bunko 35th Annyversary Festa!", it was revealed the light novel series of Haruhi Suzumiya will receive a new volume soon, called "The theater of Haruhi Suzumiya". Haruhi Suzumiya no Gejikou It was also announced the revival of the 2009 concert "Suzumiya Haruhi no Gensou", now called "Suzumiya Haruhi no Gensou Revival", during which the composer Satoru Kosaki will be a "special SOS Brigade Member". The concert will be held on January 20th 2024 at the Kawaguchi Lilia Hall, and Aya Hirano, Minori Chihara, Minoru Shiraishi and Megumi Matsumoto (Haruhi, Nagato, Taniguchi, Kunikida) will be special guests. |

| @Coolzweg2 We still don't have a release date, but since it was announced, I think the new novel is probably almost finished, or at least there's enough material to see the release date. My guess is early 2024 |

| To be fair, I've never read the novels yet, except for having watched the anime, but from the writing of reviews, the latest off hiatus of almost 10 years, Volume 12's 'The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya' sounds a bit underwhelming for how casual it is. So, hopefully the next 13th Volume is superior, but regardless, I'm happy that Haruhi is back. I'm also glad that the cast is doing another concert. I'm particularly happy for Aya Hirano, since it's frustrating how her career changed since personal matters caused undeserved issues, and lessened her career of work. So the more exposure she gets back as the great actress she is is always appreciated. What I'm really hoping for though is an anime comeback. Even though some side characters and details were left out, the anime could continue as a sequel instead of a reboot. This next volume sounds fairly fun though. I don't know if they've done anything else of "normalcy" (non-supernatural) that isn't as grand as theater, but this sounds entertaining. |

| Not really, the anime was definitely a product of it's time, if it released now people would call it a mediocre waifubait even though it influenced so much of the industry as it exists now. |
