| I have been waiting for this episode since the beginning of the season. They did an incredible job adapting it and I love finally seeing it on screen, especially with Sylphie’s voice actress who has been killing it this season! I have read the light novels up the volume 24, and they are absolutely fantastic, some of the best fiction I’ve ever read! You can really see the love that the studio has for adapting the source material even in tender moments like this episode. With that in mind, what happened in this episode is one of my favorite parts of the entire book series. Sylphie, is the perfect complement for Rudy. Rudy needs somebody who will stick by him and never abandon him at this juncture of his life, because he’s constantly terrified that if he opens his heart up again it will just end up like Eris; “why would anyone ever love him?” Those are the feelings that he has regressed to during this arc. He self-deprecates to his own detriment Sylphie needs to know that the person she loves the most, will never be separated from her again. She no longer has a family, since they’re dead, or friends outside of Ariel and Luke. She has to pretend to be someone else, and have her heart break that Rudy doesn’t realize who she is day by day. The scene where she says she “worked so hard”, it wasn’t just in the village, but she has had to do the same just to stay alive in Ariel’s service the past 5-6 years. Over this past year in school they have fallen in love with each other. They both admire and respect one another greatly. Now that Rudy knows that Fitz is actually Sylphie, all the feelings that he originally had for Fitz become feelings he has for Sylphie. She’s the one he fell in love with the one who he looks up as she does to him. They are both going to make one another very happy! Out of all the three girls, Sylphie, holds a special place in Rudy’s heart as his first wife. The girl that stayed the morning after. I like all three of the girls from Mushoku Tensei. They all have great aspects and are able to bring out the best in Rudy in various ways. However, Sylphie just seems like the one that is the most loving and affectionate of the entire Greyrat family, the kind of mother who’ll wrap her arms around when your sad and won’t let go until you’re better. |
