Weird that this gets a 15+ by the BBFC despite the 18+ content shown in the anime and what's weirder is that tamer stuff like Yakuza, Ninja Gaiden II and 3 get an 18+ even though have more tamer content than Elfen Lied.

Okaaayyy what a smart way to compare two completely different mediums

i personally do find conparisons between different kinds of media kinda interesting. where i live books don't get any hard limit at all only recommendations. any kid could walk into a bookstore and purchase something like 50 shades (though sometimes a store clerk will probably still refuse of their own judgement) while games tend to be judged much harsher than film even with the same objectionable content. it feels like the more "newfangled" a medium is the harsher are the age restrictions

They really are always harsher on games than tv or film.
If a game features blood it pretty much gets elevated to an 18 for example, and sexual content usually either goes 18+ or gets a game banned

look at tv shows like game of thrones, an 18 that featured plenty of blood and sex, then yakuza as a whole which besides a few swears doesn’t feature nearly as graphic violence and the most sexual yakuza 0 (from around the same time) gets is…. Cleavage

well, we don't know if the 15+ warning is based on the rules of a country where that shit is allowed, most of us have grown up thinking that all this is 18+ content but maybe because it is an animation and because the studio most likely wanted this show to be a TV one, this is what they came up with
