What's the first time you hopped into Gintama?

I started it on May 22nd last year, and to this day, it's the best decision I ever made, to laugh out loud more than ever in my life. and then the tone shift kicks in, and wow, have I never expect anything to get this much crazy! All thanks to the characters that felt all the more real the more the show sticks with me
And it officially became my number 1 comedy anime of all time
And one of my top 3 Shounen's 
And I can't wait to laugh some when the spin off comes out now that the sadness has come to an end!

A friend of mine couldn't stop recommending me to watch Gintama in the first place, the first couple of episodes was so dull that I remembered dropping it several times (It got better once I finished the Anime, Gintama has a high rewatching value imo), and I couldn't get the overall idea of the show. And then, I reached Amnesia and Benizakura Arc; which changed how I felt toward the whole show. I didn't remember when it really hooked me, but now, it's the greatest shounen I've ever had a chance to experience.
Gintoki vs Takasugi is still one of my favorite fights in Anime.

I finished it last year in August and it immediately broke into my top 5. An amazing series fr. The show peaked at season 4 for me personally i.e. the Shogun Assassination and Farewell Shinsengumi arcs.

Though the first 60 episodes of season 1 were a snoozefest, but I heard that it gets good around the first serious arc and so I decided to stick around till then. And from there, I was hooked.

Also, Takasugi is hot af and the fact that he is voiced by Zeke and Dio's va makes it even more better. His theme song is also so raw.

I started it I think in spring 2021. And that summer I had my final exams๐Ÿ˜†
It became my absolute best and favorite anime

Around the beginning of 2018 because by the time i caught up to Gintama the second part of Silver Soul arc was still airing. To this day i still think that watching Gintama's one of the best experiences for me

All I remember was watching it at like 11 pm, passing out on the couch after one episode(not because I thought it was crap, I was just tired AF) and then I woke up by like 6 and binged it like there was no tomorrow. Simpler times man.

A few months before the pandemic. Finished the whole series in a month and 1 or 2 weeks (I was watching 10 episodes per day, and I had college and internship that period).

finished about 2 months ago. dropped it once because I thought Sadaharu being oversized was dumb. so glad it was recommended to try again. Gintoki will always be one of my favorite heroes.

i started episode 1 on november 4th last year and finished gintama the final on december 28th. it was so good, i could barely even tell the time as it went. i was also on vacation throughout december and january, so i stayed at 3 different resorts with my family and watched gintama at every resort lmao.

May 8 of last year. Watched it cause Saw some funny clips online and saw that it was on Top of everything in MAL. Ngl it was pretty hard to finish. It took me more than a year to finish this show but when I was reaching the Finale, I remember I watched like 22 Episodes and the Final movie in a single day. I know the math don't add up but I swear to God I did that

Was worth every second. Especially the shit that didn't had anything to do with anything and was there for no reason

No other anime can put smile on your face like Gintama !! If anyone fails to enjoy this great series than he can't be a human being !!
I put season 4 hold for some reason but I will continue it besides monster !! I have to ๐Ÿ™‚

aug 2015 ๐Ÿฅฒ I didn't want to start something so long, but it seemed like it is full with goodlooking men, so I gave in. It is definitely one of my favourites and will prolly rewatch it one day with my kids XD
I love how it is funny and serious and how some characters are simply lazy/bad people till the end :)
I really don't know why they were pushing for it to end...

As when I conmpleted the the show
It was an absolute MASTERPIECE
I abdolutely loved the versatile theme of it with the best comedy ever and mind blowing action
