Is only watching tokyo ghoul and it's rootA worthy ?

I'm planning to start this series, so I check it's reviews on YT, they are saying that Tokyo Ghoul:re and it's S2 is not worthy to watch.

Give me your opinion whether it's worth to watch Tokyo Ghoul and it's rootA only or I should watch re too.

I watched it yesterday, not worth of time, only hyped anime. No story, no plot, zero goal or aim of the anime. At the end of watching it you won't find any conclusive plot. Talking about the very first season. And the seasons after this is way worse, chaotic decision and actions will ruin the little fun we could have from √A. And don't even think about Re. God

The only thing you would get from watching Tokyo ghoul season 1 is an increase of two songs in your playlist. Talking about story , I think you can judge it by the fact that nearly 65 chapters were summed up in 12 episodes, if possible then you should go for manga.

I watched season 1 and the first episodes of root A. After season 1 the anime got is rushed that the story doesn't make sense anymore, but the manga is really good well written and the drawings are beautiful. So season 1 is cool, they still let important stuff from the manga away, but overall you should read the manga because the anime isn't good.

Just read the manga. It's better in every possible way. I saw the anime before reading the manga. At first i actully liked the anime. But people were saying the anime was trash. After reading the manga, i understood what people were talking about. On it's own the anime is decent, A solid 6/7 out of 10. But the manga is a 9/10. So, just read the manga. I won't go to any spoilers, the some manga panels are master piece and there anime counter parts are decent at best, cra* at worst.

I watched it recently. I Liked the first to seasons not gonna lie but the last season with the 2 parts were the worst sequels I watched in anime history. Especially season 3 part 1. it is like a new anime with new characters and new story. It has almost nothing to do with the prequels + it felt like I watched transformers. The studio concentrated to much on the action and forgot to develop the story. I didn’t read the manga but for the anime experience it was just waste of time (Season 3).

Everyone gets it here except you, how Tokyo Ghoul Anime could be anyone's favourite, the whole series is rushed and disoriented, story doesn't make sense more and more after time. Tokyo Ghoul Re is a messed up story in every sense, joining your enimes!!! Read MANGA!!!!!

The anime is awful,they skip a lot of character building and plot points that were present in the manga. If you wanna enjoy Tokyo ghoul put on some good music and read,the manga is worth your time,the anime is straight up garbage.

If you genuinely have a hard time getting into manga and never plan on doing so in the upcoming years, just give the anime a go

Avoiding additional entertainment in a franchise just cuz others tell you to do so is retarded. If you were heavily invested in S1 and don't expect getting into manga, then continue with the sequels despite the adaptation's mess - if you didn't care much about S1, then drop the franchise.
When I was a new anime fan I enjoyed all 4 seasons, I rarely enjoy shows as much as I did with Tokyo Ghoul even though didn't know wtf was going on

first 24 EPs are worth it then re is alright not and good as the first 24 EPs but if you watch I'd say watch the first little bit of re and if you don't mind what's going on then continue

Manga is recommended.
Season 1 was alright, but second had an original plotline shoved in there.
Then they reverted to Manga canon with the third season, without making up for what was skipped.

So from there on, nothing made sense at all.
New characters we had barely seen before.
Previous characters going through development that was never exposed to us.
The whole plot flipped but we had no clue why or how the story got there.

It was terrible.

they tried to adapt 300+ chapters into 24 episodes and the entirety of √A is filler. If you want the full tokyo ghoul experience, just read the manga

its good don't let these people change your thoughts.. they are just some people who always wanted more.. though i admit its not that much good as goated as the manga.. but still worth it... you will definitely enjoy a mc villian story.. like deathnote... season 1 is brilliant and worth.. with some hype moments and the ending was just pure beauty.. though after that it might get a little tricky to keep up with the story as they skipped much in the anine.. but still its worth watching.. and who knows you might want to start manga after finishing it.... in short i have watched it twice at first even i dropped it after season 2.. but they cont. it and enjoyed it

Like how they skipped the whole Arima fight in root A, made the Kaneki vs Ayato fight Anime Original, fucked up one of the best Manga Panels in S1 EP12, completely skipped the character introductions and their backstories before the Island Arc, skipped half of the Island Arc and that Suzuya fight,skipped most of the 24th Ward Raid Arc.

DONT watch A. it’s utter shit. i’d even say read the manga instead of season 1 but the first season wasn’t too bad if you do wanna watch some. but yeah i’d say just read after season 1.

definitely listen to the soundtrack though, it’s actually really good. probably the best part about this really disappointing adaptation.

I know that the story is messy from what other people say, but just watching it alone I didn’t really find much of an issue with it (minus one very specific plot point that just came out of nowhere). I really enjoyed it and it made me cry so

The anime has pretty much it’s opening and a handful of scenes making it any good. The anime otherwise has a lot of issues with pacing as it blazes through 60+ chapters of the manga in 12 episodes. I watched it originally and wasn’t too impressed but a friend told me to pick up the manga and the anime doesn’t do it justice at all. In my opinion you should pick up the manga if you can it’s a lot better.
