Personally if you want to watch simply to see how it ends, go for it. However, the series did decline pretty bad after the anime imo

What made this show my favorite was the continuation. No major events happen after the anime aside from the school trip to Hokkaido. Volume 7 is more about the new students, volume 8 contains the school trip, volume 9 is where certain characters work on a game for let’s make a game and volume 10.. Just read it for yourself. I would like to say that volumes 9 and 10 are significantly less eventful than volumes 7 and 8 but especially 8. I also recommend you don’t read the blogpost from 2013 about the Sakurasou light novel as a lot of people create a prejudice against the show without having read it themselves.

The fact that there’s no proper translation for volumes 8 and up may also factor in whether you want to read the continuation. If you choose to read it, the Sakurasou discord server re-translated volume 7 into proper English.

I hope this was useful!

I agree.
The LN volumes after Misaki and Jin's graduation are pretty repetitive, especially the game developing plot line. In terms of romance, it was good up till volume 8, but it seemingly lost its direction after that and became a convoluted mess. Plus, one pet peeve of mine is that some tropes (pantsu in particular) were overused till the point where the characters became somewhat unlikeable, including the main duo.
For me, the LN volumes ensuing the anime were boring and kinda distorted my good impression for the characters. Tbh, the anime is the best part of the series and it did a great job providing a complete viewing experience. So I wouldn't recommend reading the LN past the anime, but I know it's enticing to get a sense of closure from the source material haha. These are my two cents ✌️.

Without spoiling too much, it's not that funny and wholesome as the part that was adapted into anime. But again, that's what the life is, it's not always fun and your efforts will sometimes go into vain. If you're okay with it, then read it. I understand why people (who actually read it and not based their opinion on certain someone's review) dislike it, but personally I absolutely loved it.
