Did Tomoko recommend Steins;Gate?

I think it's safe to say she did

I don't think we have enough data to figure it out

I think she was talking about a different anime

So, I've been thinking of what Tomoko recommended since she didn't name it, and I think it's likely to be Steins;Gate.
Here are the two pages that mention the anime:

It was first mentioned in chapter 3, which was released on September 1st, 2011. Chapter 2 was about the first midterm exam, which I believe happens in July. I think it's safe to say that chapter 3 happened around July or August 2011.
So, this anime must have:

Been airing around July/August 2011
A female character die halfway through
A movie made of it (or at least had one in production at some point)

So, I think this fits Steins;Gate. What do you guys think? I know it's not much to go off of, but I can't think of another anime that fits that.

Also, this might be grasping at straws, but in the frame where Yuu says "I watched that anime you mentioned", the crowd reminded me of the Steins;Gate opening. Can you see it too?

It sounds stupid at first, but the few evidence we have and the possibilities are killing me.

Also that girl dying in the middle is pretty accurate
