| That's my favorite part of the entire trilogy, and one that I really feel they nailed incredibly well. The sense of dread feels quite similar to the one the manga delivers. It's only missing the more explored characterization for the main characters of the band before their inevitable demise, which was and still is (despite Bonfire of Dreams really helping with the bonding they all share) my bigger disappointment of the original release. Nonethless, if you just imagine you got that, beforehand (maybe with the first anime adaptation), the whole Eclipse being set in motion is impeccable. |

It looked really polished, especially Rickert's face and movements. It did not look CGI-animated either, but I may be wrong. It's really interesting that this is new material, keeps me wondering what it would look like if this team got involved in a new adaptation... |
| It's on. The iconic Berserk moment has started. Movies made it look utterly menacing, even more than it had looked like in 1997 anime. Imagine being one of the Band of the Hawk's members and seeing the world suddenly turning into literal nightmare. We have also gotten a new scene, no? I don't remember this short scene with Rickert buying a medicine. Very nice looking and animated addition. |

At some point I began to think that perhaps more dark, shadow-like scenery fit more into what we could see in the source material. That being said, while in general I consider '97 series as superior to movie trilogy, both movie trilogy and its Memorial Edition without any doubt had better looking animation and special effects. That made the Eclipse feel not only more realistic, but dynamism in movements of the Band of the Hawk's members made you feel that you were a part of what was happening back then. | Griffith was quite pitiful in this episode. I empathize with the man who lost a lot. Yet what these Godhand fellas want him to discard in exchange for demon kinghood is everything left! A price too high to pay for most people. What a cruel prophecy. |
