Do I HAVE to read Koyomimonogatari before Owarimonogatari?

It's a bore. I'm losing motivation to read KoyomiMono. I'm about half way through the first book (of Koyomimono) but it's taken me half a year. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the "western fanservice", but I'm not in the mood for it. I still plan on finishing it eventually, IF I can skip it. Soooo...

Is KoyomiMono essential for Owari? Or can I temporarily skip it?

nah they are good and the last two stories lead directly into owari so you'll be confused if you don't read them.
