Introduction
How did this young boy become notorious gentleman thief "Lupin III"?

Loosely based on Young Lupin III from the original manga, Lupin Zero will tell a nostalgic, yet brand new original story, finally lifting the veil cast upon Lupin III's humble beginnings. Set during the era in which the original series was first published, the anime depicts Young Lupin III running around the streets of 1960's Japan during the country's economic boom.

A young boy climbs the staircase to villainhood. What was he thinking and what steps did he take? This is the untold origin story of the world's greatest thief. (Source: TMS Entertainment)

Yahoo! More Lupin is always a good thing. And another origin story to boot. Yuji Ohno sadly isn't involved with the music this time, but the music in the trailer still sounds like the classic Lupin series, so it should be fine.

Last minute announcements rarely promise anything good. I fear this will be yet another soulless streaming platform project to meet the quota.

The amount of staff returning from Parts 4 and 5 is a huge relief after Part 6. Ichiro Okouchi clearly had more plans for Lupin after Part 5, so I’m excited to see his take on a Lupin III origin story. I love how much this takes influence from Part 1 in terms of art and music too.

Interesting. Lupin's past has always been shrouded in mystery so I'm curious see what kind of person he was before he became a legendary thief.

Glad to see we are getting to see new Lupin yearly content for this year as well and even better that telecom animating.

The prequel idea sounds exciting to me in a way that we will get to see the old setting era identical to Part 1's general feel and the pv really shows that. But I hope the story will focus on Lupin foremost and will be cool to see Zenigata as well.

Nice to see staff return from part 5. I wonder if this project is connected to the story involving Albert in part 5, or if it's unrelated. With parts 5 and 6 aggressively alluding to a younger Lupin, I guess this project existing makes chronological sense. Young Lupin's hair looks good, I always wonder if Lupin has short hair or slicked back hair. Also the older woman in the trailer looks like Fujiko.

I wonder if Jigen, Goemon, Fujiko and Lupin are going to the same Middle school or something, as a school building can be seen in the trailer and Lupin is wearing a school uniform. Though this would make no sense, I think it woud be kind of comedic. I guess seeing a younger Zenigat, is going to be cool.

A Lupin prequel should be fun, though I think it'd be too big a coincidence to involve meetings with young Fujiko, young Jigen, young Goemon and young Zenigata.

Though Lupin has had loose continuity so that shouldn't be such a serious issue.

Will Ichiro Okouchi write this? Okay, I'm ready for another toxic parents, references to English literature and homoerotic friendship.

Is this not the first Lupin from Ichiro? Well, that explains why the last part had a toxic father and a subplot with teenagers. This dude is really like Stephen King with his cliches.

Okouchi was in charge of series composition for Lupin III Part 5, as well as writing the script for a bulk of the season's episodes.

I know about cognitive bias, where things mistakenly seem obvious after you've learned about them, but damn. It starts to scare me that I'm starting to become a regular viewer of this dude.
