| I noticed there was a scene missing. I'm pretty sure while Denji is eating with Makima, Makima tells him to kill a devil. Weird that that scene didn't make it to the anime. Aki and Power are introduced and once again, I am impressed with the VAs. Denji's ultimate goal is to touch boobs, the perfect self insert character since he's clearly lacking a few brain cells. I can't wait for the multitude of CSM fans to say that Denji's shallow goal makes the series better and unique... |

| This was a pretty damn good episode. Better than the first, in my opinion. Now I'm defo going to stay and watch the rest. Now, I was hoping for Chainsaw Man to rip some stuff up, but this was more of a plot episode. If I were to watch episodes 1 and 2 together, it would feel right. There was enough that happened that made it worth the watch. I'm upping my rating from 7/10 to 8/10. |

| Power's blood ability reminded me of Kyoukai no Kanata. Based on the "songs" section of the AniDB entry, it seems like we're going to get a different ED each episode, Katanamonogatari-style. |
| I will be surprised if someone still complains about the CGI after this. Damn, the shadows are so pleasing to see for some reason. Made me laugh a fair bit too. I felt similar about JJK in the beginning, but the anime totally sold me the unspectacular first couple of chapters and CSM is underway to follow suit. To me it's kinda like a similar feel I have for the first 3 tankobons for Berserk (much like the first 3 tankobons for CSM). It's only by the end of the third one that you actually start thinking "you know what, this character actually can go a lot of places and have some nice depth to him after all". Berserk became a masterpiece eventually, and Chainsaw Man is at the very least amazing so far in, imo. Imo that's part of the development, you know, going from only horny to friendship, paternal love, etc. |

| Denji's thought process was something that kept on amusing me in this episode. Having Makina simply offering him her coat and to pay breakfast for him was enough to have him fall in love with her. He and Hayakawa got off to a rough start, with Hayakawa throttling him in the alleyway as a warning, but I'm glad that Denji got back at him with the almighty nutcracker, which he unleashed 3 times total to knock out Hayakawa. Deserved... XD The introduction of Power was also entertaining, too. Considering who she is, her personality is very chaotic, but you can't deny how strong she was went she jumped off from the top of the building and killed the enemy in one go with her blood hammer. I think I like her more than Makima already! This follow-up episode as a whole was great and MAPPA's production quality is still as consistent as ever, which is excellent. =) |
