No.
The Original Anime of Hellsing was almost completely Anime-Original , while Ultimate actually follow the Manga , very faithfully.
Their only common point is the characters themselves.

Ok so this is the proper adaptation because the first one went anime original after a few episodes

Bro I have watched both but according to me, if you want to sum up the whole plot in short with a very little adaptation from manga then go with the normal Hellsing.
If you want a more thrilling, action packed, somewhat lengthy story filled with suspense and good quality animation then go with Ultimate.

Personally I will prefer Ultimate.

Watch original Hellsing for fun but if you want the real adaptation watch Hellsing Ultimate.

i would Just watch both.
yeah it is mostly The Same but The Difference between Manga and Adaption is interesting

hellsing doesn't follow the manga but ultimate does and its really good. so watch ultimate. also the dub is better than sub so watch that to
