Repetitive after a while?

Not hating on the anime, its really good but after a while doesn't it get repetitive? Like even if the players learn new skills and the opponents are different, the matches itself can get repetitious. What keeps you hooked onto this anime?

I agree that it can get repetitive especially when one game can last like an entire season. I guess what keeps me hooked is it’s a feel good anime but it has enough tension to keep you invested. Plus the characters are just insanely lovable.

Trust me, this anime gets far from repetitive. Even if the matches drag on for an entire season, the skills and techniques used by players never remain the same and keep on evolving in literally each episode!! And the hype, emotions and the inspiring soundtrack (same composer of MHA) keeps you attached to this show till the end🔥😍!!

I agree with the post above me. While sports anime are repetitive by nature, Haikyuu does a good job of introducing new strategies and techniques every match that keep things fresh.

For me, the relationships between the characters are also the main draw rather than the drama during the matches themselves.

I think the introduction of new characters and the grown of the “old” ones gets you hooked up to the series.

i stopped watching it on s4 because it felt repetitive for me too.
before that the first 3 seasons were good for me.

Yh it does get repetitive, one of the reasons why I dropped it midway through season 2.

i really like the anime and when i watched it i didn't think it was repetitive, because even though it's always the same type of matches (and some people might find volleyball boring) the characters where almost every time different so also the interactions between the characters made the matches different

The matches get better, the moments outside of the matches aren’t that good, to me. But the enjoyment of the matches is always high

Of course it’s gonna be repetitive the only plot is volleyball but there’s character development, and those who have played a sport before probably enjoy it because there is progression and it’s easier to notice that when you’ve had a similar experience.
For a lot of people being in a sport is their whole life, a big deal for them a way to make friends memories and deal with life lessons, and that is what Haikyuu is!

Yeah I think it does get repetitive. I stopped at the first part of season 4 and I'm probably not going to watch more of this show. Tbh the only reason I kept going were some characters I liked and my friends who wanted me to watch it lol

Most sports anime feel to me this way. So yea it can get repetitive but if it's good you only keep getting the good stuff over and over
