Do you like this anime because of the hot guys?

It’s pretty much impossible to look up this anime on social media without seeing people thirsting for the Haikyuu boys. Personally I don’t get it because I’m a lesbian and an adult in my mid 20s buuuuut you do you

I love the character interactions and dynamic volleyball games! It’s very uplifting

Ok some people will 🌚 but most of the haikyuu community like it cause of the hype they build in every scene of each episode, the character development and comedy. ☺️

The reason most people love Haikyu, at least in my experience, is because of the development of the characters rather than their appearances. The reason I watch sports anime is to see their development because instead of focusing a ton on the plot. Sports anime are relatively low stakes (compared to saving the world or life or death situations) thus it’s able to hone in on the characters more while still having hype moments and making the plot ABOUT the characters. That is why Haikyu is good.

I guess I just like the slice of life feel to it. The hot guys play a part in my liking to the show probably but it’s just a good sports anime

The characters are a really good part of the anime but that is not the only reason. I personally like the suspense and comedy. Honestly the dub has made me laugh more then people irl do.

Nah I watch it because most of the characters are very interesting to me both when it comes to their backstories and personalities. I also really love how the different teams play. Also sports animes in general are very entertaining to me

noooo, i like kenma and i don't think he is a hot guy. I like Haikyuu because I like how the main character is Hinata who has development character, their friendship is very fun and I also happen to like volleyball too.

I enjoy the humor and the competitive nature. During season 2 I was ready to call it quits bc the story got boring. But I stuck with it to get to the Spring Tournament.

Well yeah for the anime.

It does a great job at explaining the sport and showing their passion. Which is what I like in most anime. As long as there's passion, there's hope of a great show. That's what I believe.

The story is great too.

I believe Haikyuu and Hajime no Ippo are the ones that showed how to do a good anime sport.

I mean I started watching Haikyuu when I was a teen, so I guess partially? The animation looks great if that what you mean. For me it was more of like the people around me are watching and I feel the need to keep up with them, accidentally falling harder for Haikyuu than my friends, and here I am. Overall the story and the ost caught my attention.

Those "hot guys" you are talking about are actually half the reason why I avoid this anime despite my friends kept bugging me to watch this show, those "hot guys" look below standard to me.

Other half of the reason is volleyball doesn't interest me at all nor I understand any of the rules.

for that to happen i feel like it depends on the art style for me, despite the fact theyre teens and thats a whole thing on its own, the artstyle doesnt appeal to me in that way so i do actually like haikyuu for the content. its wholesome and fun

Personally I like drama and characters with depth that develop further over a show, which it delivers. Is it my favorite sports anime? No, that spot is reserved for “Stars Align, however, it’s a well done anime with a ton of merit that’s worth the watch, in my opinion👌🏾
